after he asked the other Greeks who were offering to fight with the Spartans what they were, it sounded like they were saying they were "Ho's". Did I catch that right?
 
Legitimate question. I didn't understand what they said either. They did reply with a whooping sound that resembled "ho", but obviously that meant something else.
 
You're just not manly enough to understand their epic man cries.:o
 
Yes, they gave their battle-cry like they did throughout the film. They do this to indicate the fact that, brief history lesson, Sparta's ruling class was all soldiers: that was their sole profession because their city was supported by something like five times their number in slaves, and a civilian class that couldn't vote or hold office. On the other hand, the armies of other city-states (Such as those the Spartans ran into) were full of citizen-soldiers with other jobs. So Leonidas is essentially correct in saying that he has brought more (real professional) soldiers.
