When will Ghost Rider interest Marvel Studios?

Apparently there was a Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD, which is usually an infallible sign that Marvel Studios doesn't want a character.
I understand why they didn't want him when they were working on the founding Avengers from comics, and then Thanos. Then came Doctor Strange and Black Panther, one of whom they'd foreshadowed as far back as 2011 and the other arguably their most important supernatural character.
But why would they still not want him before something like The Eternals? That's puzzling. They wouldn't even need to start by building up to Johnny Blaze's origin. I can see it being a supernatural version of Fast & Furious, where street racing criminals are being killed by a demon on a stunt motorcycle and Roxanne is changed from Crash Simpson's daughter to a police detective. His origin could be done as an extended flashback when he and Roxanne date and he finds out what she's doing for a living.

I dont think a movie will get made but maybe a TV series.
Im just trying to figure out where Marvel's TV intentions lie.

They probably think he's not family-friendly enough to be used in the very family-friendly MCU.

I dunno, man. It's a demonstrable fact that a street racing movie can gross a billion. Maybe not a street racing movie with supernatural elements, but you can't know without trying.

Disney streaming service for anything family-friendly, Hulu for anything too gritty (unless Comcast takes Fox).

Probably this. Movie or series, I'd be interested to see it. I don't read much Marvel these days but way back GR was one of my favourite characters.

Johnny Blaze will be in the Dr. Strange sequel (alongside Wanda and Blade) in Dr. Strange : Midnight Sons

Please don't make up bad things like that. :csad:
Seriously, I'd give Disney my money for a Ghost Rider movie about giving street racing criminals the Penance Stare and a Tomb of Dracula movie with Blade. Why would they cram their debuts into a Doctor Strange sequel people will attend anyway, as if it's a trash compactor for characters?

I wouldn't consider Captain America: Civil War a trash compactor for introducing Black Panther and Spider-man. Starting Blade and Ghost Rider out in an established series is a solid plan.

I strongly disagree, because you can't have a feature-length film about illegal street racing, selling your soul to Satan, Dracula, a black guy who hunts him, two sorcerers and a Doctor Strange villain without doing a huge disservice to most of them. It sounds unwatchable.

What is with this illegal street racing obsession?

They need to do a Dark Avengers Movie, it doesn't need to be anywhere near the same scale as Avengers though.

Ghost Rider, Blade, Moon Knight and Union Jack.

All of them have ties to the supernatural so there is a common theme and if you keep it a smaller line-up you can cram so much more story in to it.

It's the same reason most believe Marvel Studios will not do R rated films and don't want them to have X-Men. They are literally sitting on their hands with characters like Blade and Ghost Rider. What are the chances we are going to get another Deadpool film or Wolverine R rated film in the foreseeable future?

I would like to see Blade and Johnny Blaze be introduced in a MCU film and later headline another solo film. But I'd believe it when I see it.

I think Ghost Rider, Blade, Moon Knight and others would be perfect for Disney to start something on their new streaming service that would be similar to what Netflix did with the Defenders.

They wouldn't need huge budgets to be done well, and I think they could tell some really cool stories with 13 hour seasons to work with.

It would probably be as limited, slowly paced and dragging as the other MCU TV shows, so I'd rather see them in a film.

Yeah im more for the film idea as well. Although the trade off would be not one character would likely get a massive amount of character development due to them all being introduced at once.

They need a British character, so Union Jack or Captain Britain could both be could picks in imo since they do have supernatural connections as well.

Marvel Studios isn't going to make a Ghost Rider movie anytime soon. The best you can hope for is like a TV series or a VOD movie.

If they do GR it'll be pretty far down the line. Shame they haven't re-legitimized SHIELD in the movies or something that takes its place that would be your tie-in.

This is my worry, if they won't tackle r rated movies, I doubt they will ever tackle the more horror based characters like GR, who I am a huge fan of. Then if they buy Fox, what happens to DP, etc?

Phase 4 October 2019. I feel like now that we have Strange we can get everyone else mystical and crazy. Ghost Rider, The Howling Commandos, Blade, etc. If we could get a Ghost Rider film that would kick off the more horror related side. Then we get Blade, then have them team up with Frankenstein, Werewolf by Night and a few others to form the Howling Commandos.
