Apparently there was a Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD, which is usually an infallible sign that Marvel Studios doesn't want a character.
I understand why they didn't want him when they were working on the founding Avengers from comics, and then Thanos. Then came Doctor Strange and Black Panther, one of whom they'd foreshadowed as far back as 2011 and the other arguably their most important supernatural character.
But why would they still not want him before something like The Eternals? That's puzzling. They wouldn't even need to start by building up to Johnny Blaze's origin. I can see it being a supernatural version of Fast & Furious, where street racing criminals are being killed by a demon on a stunt motorcycle and Roxanne is changed from Crash Simpson's daughter to a police detective. His origin could be done as an extended flashback when he and Roxanne date and he finds out what she's doing for a living.
