When you first heard Bane was in B&R...

What was your first reaction? Did everyone expect him to break Batman's back in the movie? Or was it one of those things people knew about ahead of time and knew he was just put in there for the hell of it?

What was the "hype" surrounding Bane in B&R back in the day?

I remember reading an article when he was first announced and it said immediately he was going to be used as a bodyguard for Ivy, kinda like a pitbull.

At first I was excited because I loved Knightfall, then I thought this is Joel Schumacher remember what he did with Forever, then I saw a trailer in which they put the Elfman theme (a cheap trick to pump up die hard fans, pretty much how SR did with the Williams theme) and I saw Bane lift up the bat signal and I was pumped up again. And of course later I saw the movie and felt like I wanted to leave after the first 15 minutes.

That is exactly what I was thinking!!! Bane was such a wasted opportunity. Initially I was excited about the film. Then I remember watching the first trailer online and I was like "wtf?!!" When Clooney fell through the glass window and said "Hi Freeze....I'm Batman." I let out a Star Wars Episode 3 "Noooooooooooooooo!"

The way they cut the trailer for B&R they made it look like a completely different movie. I was hyped as hell after they showed Bane picking up the batsignal at the end. At that point I thought that's how they'd end the movie and set up Batman 5. I was like "Holy **** " it turned out to be not so holy at the end. Damn Schumacher.
