I would be intrigued by a Flash video game. I don't know how they can do the super speed thing though well. I suppose Infamous did ok with it.

I just want to fight Gorilla Grodd and Killer Shark. I don't want a temple run type game though

Everyone that isn't Batman. Not hating on the boy, but he had three back-to-back GOTY contenders. Two of them will be an influence on sandbox type games for years to come.

Superman has never been in a good game outside of the fighting genre. Neither has Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, ect...

Time to get that fixed.

I voted for Superman/Supergirl, Teen Titans, and Justice League.

We need an Arkham quality open world Superman game ( and if Supergirl's playable, that would be a bonus ).

I'd also love to see an Ultimate Alliance style game featuring the Titans or the Justice League.

There was Justice League Heroes, years ago. It was decent enough.

I seems to remember that game, though I never played it.

but we need a similar style game for the current consoles.

and such a game could allow for a good roster of characters to control, most of whom would never star in their own solo games.

like, it would be awesome to get a Raven solo game, but the chances of that happening are slim.

but if she were a playable character in an Ultimate Alliance style game, and you could pick her along with fellow Titans, or put together your own dream team, that would be great!

What I remember about that game was that I beat Darkseid with Green Arrow. As one does.

Speaking of which, I voted for Other, because I think a Green Arrow game would be interesting. You could probably use the Arkham engine without too much of a fuss.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Teen Titans and The Justice League all have the best material to draw from the comics, when it comes to characters from that list. They all feature in some of the best DC stories and/or runs ever. I am surprised to see Cyborg and Black Canary there, as their best stuff is when they are part of a team or are a supporting player or partner to someone else. That isn't to say you couldn't do something great with them by themselves if you had a great writer, but there are still far more characters that have superior solo material to what they have IMO. I would say that a JL or TT game is much more likely than a Cyborg one and that a JL, BOP, Green Arrow/Black Canary, or just a Green Arrow game is much more likely than a Black Canary one.

So, if we are talking about who "deserves" a game the most, it would be Superman, JL, The Flash or Teen Titans that would deserve one the most IMO. They all have the best material in the comics, and have proven before by their appearances on TV and/or movies, that they can go over very well with audiences.

I'm not holding my breath for those type of games. I think we'll see more Arkham type games from WB Games Montreal and stuff like Injustice.

I'm not sure other characters are as suited for games as Batman is. Batman's suited for video games because he has no powers, he has lots of gadgets, and you can mix martial arts combat with stealth and exploration of Gotham City.

Superman video games have just never been good in general.

With Wonder Woman, I'm just not sure, how do you make that game like a palatable game for audiences?

The hard part about Superhero games is that the ones with the fun powers are damn near impossible to make work.

Green Lantern? His ring can take any shape you can imagine and is basically unlimited power on your finger. How the hell do you replicate that without making a hlaf dozen things like boxing gloves, saws and generic lasers?

Superman? Looks at Superman Returns. They made the city the health bar since he's practically an almighty and invincible god.

That's the problem with DC characters. Well my problem with them anyway. Half of them are invincible gods and the other half are basically Batman with costume changes.

It's one of the reasons Marvel tends to make better games, well they have a better than average amount anyway. While they have their own invincible characters, they also have more 'normal' people like Spider-Man and Captain America.

As for games that DC could pull off? Aquaman might be able to pull it off. As long as they don't have things like needing a constant refresh for water which would be annoying as hell. The occasional level where he's being dehydrated on purpose would be interesting, more of a stealth game where you can only take a few hits than the usual beat 'em up.

Flash and other speedsters can literally hit the speed of light in seconds. Their perception of time can slow so bullets seem to stop and lasers are slowed down. Unless it's an origin game where you speed up as you go through the game then I don't see making it work right. Personally, I'd love to see a Flash game done well. Have something like in Metal Gear Revengance where after you knock an enemy into the air, time slows and you do a rapid fire punch system to finish them would be awesome.

Wonder Woman could work if she played as more of a God of War style. Less of a murdery rampage and more of a battle system where she needs to use tactics and various weapons to defeat various mythological creatures. She is really damn powerful though so maybe have hers be an origin story as well with her learning how to use the powers/training?

Teen Titans could work as long as it's not using the god like ones. I imagine the original roster could work or the classic one with Starfire, Jericho and Donna Troy as long as they aren't too powerful.

Doom Patrol and Metal Men would be interesting but I don't see that happening.

Having a Gotham PD style game would be neat. Have it like the Gotham Central comics where you play as one of the people Gordon trusts like Bullock, Montoya or someone new that transfers in and you have to solve a huge mystery while dealing with Scarecrow, Mr Freeze and so on. Batman would show up infrequently and would occasionally steal evidence but the other cops would cover for him as he's helpful. Actually, I'd love a game like that. :D

I'd love a Deathstroke game.

That would be cool. The final boss could be the Bat. That would get everyone talking

You know how they chose to adapt Arkham asylum for the batman games? You know which story I would choose for Supes? Red Son. It explains why he can't fly all over the world (diplomatic reasons) and it's intriguing as hell. I would love that

For the almighty characters you make their game like the Musou games. You unleash your power all at once on hordes of enemies without it feeling like you're killing them all. That's where the fun lies in these games.

Aquaman and Wonder Woman for sure. A Superman game by Telltale would be nice. The only things I really dread about a Superman game are his personality, powers and what they will use for inspiration. I would like something that compliments his entire history, but also something innovative. I can't sit through more Christopher Reeve's Superman.

An Aquaman game would be so gorgeous. Think Abzu but with a hook

The Flash
The formula is not that hard, make one.

Give me a freaking Wonder Woman game! Massive potential, great mythology. You can build both interesting story and gameplay with her. I wish someone talented like Rocksteady took the job.

You can set the adventure in a fantasy land or in a present day Earth. Or both. Collect/upgrade armor, weapons, save people, deal with both mythical and non-mythical enemies. Bring other DC characters there too for supporting roles or something...

Other character, that, I think have potential in a game form - Aquaman. He's similar to Wonder Woman. Only far less known.

Superman, Supergirl, Green Lantern powers are too absurd to make an interesting gameplay around them. Unfortunately.

I changed the thread title since it was a bit rude to have a “where are all the marvel video games” and not one for DC.

I reckon an Aquaman one would be so much fun, like the ps4 Spider-Man game but with a fully playable Atlantis instead of New York, mera missions and the special ability to summon ocean life when you need to

I say just give us a Superman game with a health bar or regenerating health, have all the enemies be like super robots or guys with energy weapons, and other super villains, and be done with it.

Not every aspect of these characters will translate to perfect video game mechanics. Let's just cut our losses and get going already.

Comic book characters in general bring all the templates for great video games...i have really no clue why not more companies try their hand at those and instead only batman or spider-man.

Doesnt seem to be this hard to me getting a decent superhero game.
Those who sucked were mostly rushed or based on movies or a publisher for some reason had a very specific idea instead of letting developers do their thing.

It was mentioned before, a Justice league game in the concept of the pirate warriors(Musou?) games would be so fun and simple.
You dont need open world, just large areas with missions.

Of course the good old action adventures, platformer could work, Green Arrow could get a Assassins creed like game and so on.
Hell you could do some Diablo like DC game for the big consoles.

Thing is, there have been a few DC games over the years...but they were mostly Smartphone related.
I think there is a new one coming out soon but i have forgotten everything about it.

Im playing the DC legends? Smartphone game...its nice, not the best but its fun to play for an hour or so every day.

But my point is...yeah we need more DC in the gaming industry.
Let WBM do the Batfamily, there are so many developers out there...im sure there are capable people who could do DC games.
DC just needs to be more open to things i think in general.

I reckon warner brothers are more game friendly than Disney at least. So there’s a chance. I just wish they wouldn’t just do batman all the time.

for example a Wonder Woman game would rock

The thing about Superman that's though to crack isn't just his invunerability, it's simply that the game must be open world & there are very few games that actually crack being able to do that right. That world can't be too small & it also can't be too big, you also need to have the right villian(s) to make it a challenge.

I think you could make a Superman game in the Arkham series style quite handily.. at least on paper. If they'd any ideas for ever doing a Superman game they should try to involve him in the next Batman game, make him playable in a small role even if it's only as Clark Kent to test some basic gameplay ideas.

they were sorta braver back in the day. hopefully they get to the other Dc characters

still waiting for that Superman game.........still waiting..........waiting..........waiting.............zzzzzz........

Nobody can figure out a way to make a a character with almost godlike power work. The only game I've seen do that is Bioshock where you pretty much have all the powers most bosses in games have, but have to build up to it.
