Yeah, so we're eloping in a few months to some island in the Caribbean or possibly a cruise. We're still undecided. Which one would you go to and why?

I'd go where it's nicest. I don't know where that is :o:csad:

I have a friends who in charge of tourism for one of the islands .

That been said I cant imagine anyone not going to the bahamas if they were to travel in the Caribbean

Bahamas, because two of my buddies went there. They loved every minute there.

some of my friends are going there for the cricket world cup

I'm partial to Cruises, because you can get to see a bunch of Islands during one vaction.

The Bahamas seem like the most boring of all the islands.

Depends on what you plan to do and where on the islands you plan to go.

My parents owned a house in tryall in jamaica and that is very nice if you are a golfer.

St Domingue has also some great spots.

It really depends on the activities you are looking for. I think you should more investigate the resports rather then the islands or at least the boats you wish to take a cruise on.

There are very nice places in most of your list but there are also less desirable locations.

Activities don't really matter to me. We'll be doing honeymoon activities.

That last line is the most useless piece of information I've ever encountered.

Cancun and Cozumel are simply awesome. From what I hear, Jamaica is sort of overrated but the Bahamas are awesome. Personally, I'd hit a cruise that stopped in a number of locations so I could sample a lot of the different cultures. I'd also like to someday head to the Dominican Republic because my wife has a lot of family there and they'd treat us like royalty during our visit. :D

What's so great about the Bahamas? My mom said it was the most overrated island.

Damnit! I didn't see Cancun :o

I change my vote. So when the poll closes, just add one to Cancun, subtract one from Bahamas.

Ok and that last statement was just to underline that I think you should concentrate on the hotel or resort itself rather then on the island.

Anyway, my suggestion for you which is none of the places above is the following:

Four Seasons in the Maldives

It is an absolutely amazing place and one of the most romantic spots in the world. The one caveat you have to truly be in love with the person you are going there which I imagine is yuor case.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best and happiest times.

Dunno. I've never been to Jamaica or the Bahamas. I enjoyed the hell out of Cancun and Cozumel, though. Being able to see the Mayan ruins was awesome. I got married IN Cancun, actually.

If I save up the money, I'd love to go sometime. It would be after college is done for me, of course.

Cancun is not in the caribbean.

Well, anyway, you have three choices. Either you take one of those cruises where you get to visit all the islands OR you can go to Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic.
