Anyone know whats going on with this series? I loved it for the PS2 and it was one of my favorites. SSX On Tour wasnt as great but SSX3 was amazing. Anyone know if there are any plans to give it a next gen sequel? Im surprised there hasnt been any new or info

Haven't a clue, but Tricky was one of my favourites. Need to buy the game again.

There was SSX blur for Wii.
I know of that but I dont own a Wii so its irrelevant to me. Ive been expecting to hear somethign about a PS3/360 release but nothing so far

But you asked about a next gen SSX....and he answered.
I know and I answered back that I dont own a Wii. EA has done multiplatform releases in the past and they didnt with Blur as that was tailored made for the Wiimote, so thats why I discounted it. It was more of a side project than next main entry to the series. Im interested in a "SSX 5" and if there are any plans for that

its the next game in the series do it counts my friend, you either got to get a wii or pray like hell EA has something planed. (not ment to be offensive just saying)

I havent played it but I read that there were no new tracks in it. It was all tracks from SSX3 and On Tour. The game was a mix of those 2 with Wii specific controls. That sounds more like a side game, not next game in the series.

SSX was by far the best one.i beat that one.My fav charicter was MAC and EDDIE.

LOL, I only remember SSX because it was perhaps the ONLY decent game available for the PS2 for about 4-6 months since launch.

I personally thought SSX had begun to lose its way. I loved the first two, but SSX3 and SSX On Tour were only so so for me.

blur looks good to me...is it bad i heard it was hard w/ the wii controls but ign gave it a good score

Nothing definitive, bnut possibly good news:

Is the SSX series hitting the slopes again soon?

Among its library of intellectual properties, Electronic Arts has one of the more popular snowboarding series, SSX. The franchise has lain fallow since 2007, when SSX Blur was released as a Wii exclusive. Prior to that, installments in the series appeared on the PSP, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, and original Xbox.

Now, there are signs that EA may be bringing back the SSX franchise. This week, the Internet sleuth known as Superannuation uncovered two URLs that were registered by a domain company last week: SSXFirstDescent.com and SSXDeadlyDescent.com. The domains DeadlyDescent.com and DeadlyDescents.com were also registered. All four URLs currently point to blank white pages.

Though no definitive link to EA was established, the use of the snowboarding term "first descent" in conjunction with the trademarked SSX name points to a possible new title from the publisher. However, reps for the Redwood City, California-based company declined comment on the URLs, dismissing any association with EA as "rumor and speculation."

Come on, EA. You need to revive this series already

SSX3, Blur and On Tour sucked. I want to go back to what they tried in Tricky.

On Tour was dissapointing but SSX3 was amazing. Best game in the series. I'd love to see them model the next game after that, especially with the technology we have today

I have a feeling it's going to be just as amazing as the first SSX was when it came out on PS2.

I'd love to see another SSX game, I still own Tricky
