Simply put: where the heck is Smallville's official video game? Like for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

If Lost, 24, Buffy, The OC, Desperate Housewives and even Grey's Anatomy can have one, why did WB never bother with Smallville? It even lends itself pretty well to adaptation - I imagine it would be like the Buffy games, like a "lost" episode set during either the early years or more recently.

Add this to the list of missed opportunities in the tragedy known as Smallville's merchandising (though it's possible Superman Returns was why this never actually happened).

The recently leaked footage of the cancelled Superman games on PS3 makes me think how awesome a game based on Season 9 would be, especially with the Justice League. They could even base it around the idea of Doomsday escaping, allowing PSW to tell that story free from the constraints of a television budget.

Here's the footage btw: http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/cancelled-ps3-superman-game/340358?playlist=featured

Uhhh... no. Just no. If I get no SUPERNATURAL game, you get no Smallville game.

Your right, all those shows you listed got games... but were they quality? Heard some good word-of-mouth on Buffy. Not enough to care to play it.

The fact is, it's hard enough to make a good Superman game. Out of all the games made about him, only 2 are worth playing(not including the Justice League/DC Universe online games). I think it would be even harder to sell a game about a Superman... who isn't Superman. I mean, no tights, he can't fly, and filled with teen angst? What sort of Superman is that to play?

Plus, add on the fact that the games you listed(at one point or another) had a hardcore fan base. Smallville biggest audience was during it's first season when it pulled over 5 million viewers. That number has been sliding ever since. I think last years estimate was over 3 million viewers.

Besides, Smallville has had tons of merchandise put out: hats, T-shirts, coffee mugs, action figures, posters, cds, magazines, novelizations, etc. Superman's "S" shield is one of the most recognized symbols in the world. It's not too difficult to merchandise.

I don't know, I think a game would be good. Maybe they'll release it after the show is over, I mean, there will be a known beginning and an end...

It could be cool, you start in the first season with the events in the Pilot and you have like 9/10 years of stories to mine from until the series end. It'd be great, you could gradually get your powers, improve your skills, beat up bad guys...

It'd be awesome, but probably won't happen.

One thing about Lost and Grey's is that they have tens of millions of viewers, something Smallville has never gotten....

Smallville's biggest audience was during Season 2, not 1, and if there's something Smallville always had is it's hardcore fan base, to this day, but that's besides the point.

There's a Prison Break game coming out this year, and the show got canceled last year, and no one's going crazy about it.

Lost, 24, Buffy, The OC, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy - Did anyone even get to play these games for more than 5 minutes? I doubt it.

They're just crap, thrown out there for the fanatics to collect.

Do not want. Ever.

Its my understanding that said game has been in development for YEARS and it simply reached the point where its cheaper for Fox to release it and try to cut their losses that scrap it all together.

True, but like TEDDY said, there are what, 3 or 4 million Smallville fans left who will buy this? Compare that to the mass popularity of the other shows which got video games. Even if they are cheap, throw away games, they still cost money to make and Smallville's fanbase just does not justify the cost. Hell, Warners Interactive can't even sell a Superman game, why try Smallville?

I would rather just have a Superman game. At least Superman can fly....

I can just see a Smallville game, are are Clark and are up against Lex trying to get Lana to marry you.

well even if there was a game based off the show we dont know how it would have turned out and how the game would play out.

Keep in mind however it isnt your total viewesrhip that would be relevant here, It's the type of audience, i.e. your demos. Smallville is insanely popular and always has been in the male 18-34 money demo, which is incidentally also the demo most video games are targeted at. Not to mention it's DVR and iTunes figures which are always usually in the top few shows eery week.

Shows like Grey's arent aiming at that demo, so their choice to try to market a game is a bit perplexing since their viewers by and large arent the ones who are playing video games.

Depending on the budget, you could have a profit potential with a game. Given the profit margins on game is fairly high, if you can sell 1/2 a million copies (about 1/6 of Smallville's TV audience) that's about a $30 million return right there.

People are also forgetting Smallville is more popular than Buffy ever was (factoring in ratings and auxiliary revenue), and seeing how that series received more than its fair share of games, there is no real reason why Smallville can't.

And if the game is actually good, it will be bought up by gamers outside the target audience. I can imagine the idea of playing as Clark, Chloe, Lois, the JLA and the JSA, fighting crime in Metropolis, would have mass appeal.

Multi-player would kick ass on its own, so just get PSW to write and produce a solid 12-hour single-player mode, and Warner Bros. Interactive will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I'd like a Smallville game.....:O

Oh please, if done right it'd be a top selling game. And anyone who says otherwise is crazy. But like I said IF DONE RIGHT. Make it a sand box style game with Smallville and Metropolis. Theyd have to take there time making the town and city though makin sure to include Kent Farm, Lana's house, The mansion, The caves, the talon, Crater lake, the woods an nuclear silos really include everything the in Metropolis have the daily planet, luthorcorp, oliies penthouse an watchtower. That alone would be fun to explore an make a great game. Start the game in season 1 an youd play all the major plot points upgrade an achieve all your powers an have the game go to season 3 or 4. Then about every year to six months have a new season come out playable as DLC. Include a wardrobe so Clark can change from his red/blue or blue/red combo to a flannel or plain tee then to suits for the Daily planet then the Blur costume. Even have the original Superman costume unlocked after completing the game. Itd be an awesome game. Imagine fighting all the freaks of thee weeks, doomsday, metallo, zod all but all longer since its a game they could make the doomsday fight much longer an fun. So many idea could be possibe, jumping after the missle in season 5s hidden or joining up with the JL to break into 33.1? Can anyone tell me they wouldnt spend money on this? Come on now.

It would be cool to have a game that takes us from season 1 till he becomes Superman.

totally there is a wide range of things they could do.

So how do we play this game if we ever got one? Stroke the joystick repeatedly (and faster than the last time) until we gain the laser vision power perhaps?

probably would make it like a free roam game with specific missions to do like the spider-man movie guys, or say the grand theft auto series.
