I dont know how many of you care, but personally I liked the micheal gough version better. Maybe its just because thats what I grew up with.

Both. Gough because I grew up with his Alfred and Caine because he's Michael Caine.

I wanted a thin and tall Alfred like in the comics and cartoon, but Caine's Alfred was great. Acting-wise you can't compare the two. Maybe Gough looks the part more, but Caine was a fresh spin. I don't really know.

This is tough call but I choose Caine. You could have "both" in the poll cos I like both actors whom played Alfred.

Well Michael Caine's 6'2", so you got the tall part. Heck, he actually towered over Christian Bale, who's like 6'0" or 6'1".

As for Gough and Caine... I liked them both. Aspects of Gough's Alfred stand out to me as defining Alfred, but Caine's display of Alfred's more... passionate side I guess you could call it I found interesting.

Cough! he's really funny, i grew up with his alfred! but the new one is great through, but Cough

I dunno.....I mean, the guy was the only great thing about the Schumacher films......but I just loved Caine's perfromance so much.

I'm a little surprised Efrem Zimbalist Jr. isn't mentioned in the least here.

That's why bro.

lmao. I hear you.

The only worthwhile scenes in B&R are the scenes with him, no matter how cheesy they might have been.

I felt kinda bad that Alfred was sort of delgated to being the costume designer for them......if he could have been as well used as Caine's Alfred....if only....

They were both great, but it's hard to decide because they were two different Alfreds. Caine played the Alfred who supports young Master Wayne. Gough is the Alfred that wants Bruce Wayne to move on with his life. He's the Alfred that feels that he can just accomplish whatever he wants as Bruce Wayne and not Batman.
