I'm going with Namor.

An Aquaman movie might be more family friendly with all the fish shots and bright orange costume. I want to see Aquaman movie, too. But I am intrigued with a prideful, raging king of the sea coming to terms with his legacy as a human. Last but not least, I want to hear him saying "Imperius Rex" on the big screen.

I'm going with Namor too, for pretty much those same reasons.

I will say, though, Aquaman has cooler villains.

Namor with Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Daniel Dae Kim (Namor has always looked Asian to me) playing him.

Aquaman if and only if they made him like the "Justice League" cartoon Aquaman.

I've always thought Namor was a poor man's Aquaman. I'm going go with ol' green britches.

I haven't read that many Aquaman or Namor stories -- but from what I read, I'd go with Namor.

If they do one film will they be able to make the other. General audiences would never be able to tell the difference.never.

I'd go for Namor. I'd love to see him smash through a Japanese whaling ship. Or an American submarine. Or a Somali pirate ship.

But if they'd have Aquaman drown Pearl Harbor I can go for that too! :)

Namor, I think it would be cool.

Aquaman

Namor doesn't need his own movie. He should show up in the Fantastic Four or something.

Yeah a role in an FF movie would be good to.

Preferably a FF whose film rights have been reacquired by Marvel/Disney.

No option for Fathom???

Yeah, probably not needed...I'm going with Namor...just because I think itd end up a better film.

I'd rather see Namor because he's a hothead. I think some jackass would make an Aquaman movie a damn family comedy anyway. They'd probably focus on Aquaman being an incompetent guy that plays with fish all day.

Since I have no idea how those little wingy things would play on film, I'm gonna have to give Aquaman the edge.

Still doesn't mean that Aquaman can't be the better (or Rich Man's) character, which he is.

It's true. Namor's really can't hold a film on his own. I mean what would he do? Be all grimdark under the sea? Fight......uh....Attuma I guess? Namor may be a super awesome badass and all, but that's about it. You gotta have more than that for a movie. That's why he works best as a villain/ally. His best stuff is when he's second fiddle to somebody else. The FF. Cap and the Original Torch. I don't think he even has a supporting cast.

Isn't there like a Namorita or a Namora or a Namorgirl or something?

Namorita, whose a clone of his cousin Namora, who was in a coma or something. I like Namora. Namorita? Meh. Anybody else?

I mean Aquaman's got Garth, Mera, Vulko, King Shark, Dolphin, etc.

Well, he's got a new ongoing coming out. Maybe they can produce some people besides his clone cousin and that police chick he used to hang around with in the 40's.

Although I generaly prefer Namor....I have always disliked the winged feet aspect.

The recent depiction of Aquaman in the animated BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD is hilarious and is making me take a new look at his character.

And what is Arthur Curry defining character or personality supposed to be?

Aquaman franchise might have the supporting cast and wonderous ocean setting, Namor has an edge in character story. Namor is the granddaddy of all anti-heroes and it's a whole lot interesting to see why he's so ticked with humans (daddy issues) in the beginning and how he finally accepting his half-self (daddy/some other human sacrifice). Namor seems to be a cunning fellow in politics and warfare. Antagonists can be produced for the big screen whether it's Attuma, Tiger Shark or British Petroleum. But Namor film is monolithically about Namor.

I think Aquaman is more fitting to be made into a series, but Namor is made for a big one-shot.
