Batman. Superman. Spiderman. Avengers.

Couldn't give a stuff about anything else if i'm completely honest. I mean, I'll watch Thor and Cap and Green Lantern obviously, but Thor and Cap at this point just seem like prequels to Avengers, and Green Lantern... well I find Ryan Reynolds very hard to take seriously.

I think 2011 will be a great year for genre fans, since we are getting Thor, GL, Capt. America, X-Men FC, etc. However, the lineup of Spider-man, Batman, Superman, and esp. the first superhero teamup/crossover on the big screen, THE AVENGERS, just push 2012 as the year of the movies. No matter what, we are going to have two great years in a row and I'm looking forward to them.

2012 has the movies I'm more looking forward to (The Avengers, Star Trek 2, and The Dark Knight Rises) but 2011 simply has TOO MANY movies coming out. Literally, there is a movie I'll probably go see every week from May until July.

In this case, 2011 beats 2012.

Bring it on, 2011 :awesome:

Personally I'm looking forward to both years on the same level. So many promising films being released. It's all going to come down to if they deliver or not, of course.

This year is going to be great. Hopefully all the films I"m excited for will deliver and even surprise me.

But 2012 man. Just think, three years ago, there weren't any movies other than Batman 3 that we were looking forward to. But now... holy crap.

We got Spider-Man, Batman, Supes, Avengers, The Hobbit, and Star Trek 2 out in the same year.

If we all die at the end of 2012, I'll be happy. Just as long as they're good.

Hard choice. 2011 has Tree of Life and Sherlock Holmes 2. But 2012 has Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit and Bond 23.

I need an option for:

"Wow dude! Is this a great time to be a comics/fantasy fan, or what?"

Sheesh....this is awesome.

If Kick Ass 2 is coming in 2012....that may make me lean that way.

I think people are too early to call these years good. Every year some movies are not as good as people expected them to be. GL and Thor looks pretty bad to me.

This, plus the thing I have been looking forward to since I was 2 years old (1989).....

GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

So, in summary:
The superhero that got me through high school, and it looks like he'll be portayed the way I've always wanted to see him. The original superhero possibly finally getting the modern age film treatment he deserves. The third part of possibly the greatest live action adaptation of a superhero ever committed to film. Marvel's greatest heroes on film, together, for the first time. And finally, the resurrection of the film franchise that inspired my creativity as a child and even now has fueled me to become a storyteller and film maker, the boys (and hopefully girls this time) in grey are back in Ghostbusters 3.
That pretty much makes 2012 the unbeatable year in my book.

The fact that it is preceded by a year in which we will see an update of a pulp icon, the origin of the X-Men, the first big screen appearances of 2 of Marvel's big 3, and the premiere of another DC legend, not to mention a whole bunch of other amazing looking films, is just icing on the cake. 2013 will have do some work to live up to these next 2 years (though honestly, if I just hear that Flash has been greenlit sometime soon and is casting for a 2013 release, I'll be happy :awesome: )
