Ok, so here's the situation.

I have been seperated for about 3 years now, and my ex wants to get a divorce...which is fine....but she insists that I pay for it all.

Now, had I been the one who left her, I would understand, but she left me...

Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do?!?

Take her to court & if a 12 year old can win a court case then anyone can

no you shouldn't have to pay for it all. If anything, you guys should split it down the middle. But what do you have to pay? I'm sorry, but I don't know how divorces work.

Get a lawyer, and a good one at that.

There is 2 ways we can go...one is go with the full out court case, which will cost about 250.00/hr for the lawyer and then paperwork/court costs or I can use a free home kit that the government gives out for free here, and costs about 300.00.

The thing with the kit is that 300.00 is alot to shell out when you are paying child support.

Besides, she cheated on me in the marriage, and I forgave her.

she cheated on you, divorcing you, and now wants you to pay for the whole thing? You should take her to court and squeeze every penny out of her you can get.

If she left you she should pay...if not split the fees in half.

Then again, do you care to give us the reason why she left you? That could factor in too. If she left you because you were abusive or cheated on her, then you should pay.

If she is just done with the marriage or wants to fool around still...then have the ***** pay.

EDIT: Just saw that you said she cheated on you...have the ***** pay for it all.

Dude, seriously get an attorney.

hmmm........what's her reason?

Oh snap.

That is an unforgivable offense. If you have ANY proof take it with you while scouting for lawyers.

Did she write you a card (b-day, anniversary, "I'm sorry I ****ed another") that mentions this? Think man, think! ANYTHING that proves that she cheated? Dig deep.

You're going to be paying child support, probably, for a while now and there is NO WAY you should allow her to get away with ANYTHING. You're the wronged party here. Get proof or get a GOOD lawyer to solicit the info out of her and get HER to pay for all the divorce charges.

At least make an appointment with an attorney so you can see if he has any good advice for you. Shop around... there's plenty of divorce lawyers and ask around your office, I'm sure someone there has been through an ugly divorce... unless you don't want your dirty laundry being passed all over the place.

You should get a lawyer; I think her infidelity will give you the edge to win this case.

Depends. I think Porker's in Canada, so I don't know if there are any sort of Common Laws on the books there, but I have a buddy who's wife met a guy on World Of Warcraft and cheated on him (both virtually and then in real life). She decided she wanted a divorce. My buddy saw three different lawyers and they all basically told him that because of the Common Laws and the way the affect property, it's pretty much a 50/50 split of the property, holdings AND the debt. They all advised him to pursue out out of court settlement first and foremost because he'd likely get a better deal by bargaining with his now ex.

I play WOW but I didn't know this stuff would happen, but I guess it might, not just in MMO but also on online chat rooms and whatnots.

If Federline can make his ex pay I think you can too.

what a tramp, don't pay for her infidelity.

Beat the crap out of that ****e and make her pay for it.

WTF?!?!?

You both pay for the divorce! Obviously she still wants to be with you since she wants you to pay for it. :o If she really wanted a divorce she'd pay for it.

I'll represent you in the court case. I just need you to sign this document giving me power of attorny. I'll only charge $20 an hour, and court costs. Also, I should mention, I'ven ever studied law, or even been to court, but I have seen The Devil's Advocate about 40 times, so I know how it all works. First, I need to make a deal with the devil, then we'll get you a fair settlement in this case :o
