1. PHIL LORD, CHRISTOPHER MILLER (21 JUMP STREET)

2. MARK FORSTER (QUANTUM OF SOLICE)

3. J.J. ABRAMS (STAR TREK)

4. GARY ROSS (THE HUNGER GAMES)

5. JOSH TRANK (CHRONICLE)

6. JASON REITMAN (YOUNG ADULT)

7. STEVE MCQUEEN (SHAME)

8. SEAN DURKIN (MARTHA, MACY, MAY, ARLENE)

9. DEREK CIANFRANCE (BLUE VALENTINE)

10. CHRISTOPHER NOLAN (THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY)

11. BURR STEERS (CHARLIE ST. CLOUD)

12. DAVID FINCHER (THE SOCIAL NETWORK)

13. CHRIS WEITZ (THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON)

14. DAVID SLADE (THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE)

15. GAVIN O’CONNOR (WARRIOR)

16. ALEXANDER PAYNE (THE DESCENDANTS)

17. D.J. CARUSO (DISTURBIA)

18. JOHN FAVREAU (IRON MAN)

19. MCG (TERMINATOR SALVATION)

20. BRAD BIRD (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL)

21. RUPERT WYATT (RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES)

22. DARREN ARONOFSKY (BLACK SWAN)

23. MICHAEL BAY (TRANSFORMERS TRILOGY)

24. SAM RAIMI (SPIDER MAN TRILOGY) ...NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!

My personal favorites are J.J. Abrams, Josh Trank, Steve McQueen, David Fincher, McG, Brad Bird, Rupert Wyatt and Darren Aronofsky.

J.J. Abrams or Josh Trank would be suitable for the job IMO. Although I don't think Nolan is the best choice for a Spider-Man film, I would have good faith in what he would do for the next movie.

Nolan wouldn't be right for Spider-Man at all. He'd probably be the first person to say that.

He would probably be better as a producer or something.

Nolan is as compatible with Spiderman as Rob Zombie is with a PIXAR film. The hardcore science fiction- fantasy hybrid does not work with his aesthetic.

I want Nolan to stay away from the next Batman franchise so I wouldn't want him to touch Spider-Man.

That is quite a list, many names are Not suitable for Spider-man, not because all have the same approach to making movies, in fact the list offers directors with a wider variety of approaches to movie making.

I have Bolded the choices who would never work. I could see someone like Josh Trank, Brad Bird, John Favreau, as for the others in the list I don't know enough about their work to say anything.

In my opinion keep Marc Webb, he is perfect.

Josh Trank and Brad Bird could both probably do something cool.. Alex Proyas would be a good one too, I think. Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) and Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Push) both have a style that could slip in well with the tone and visual feel Marc Webb has created... Perhaps even Neil Burger who did The Illusionist and Limitless.
