I guess since the um president isn't inaugurated til 2009, your thread title is true.

Keeping in mind the poll isn't asking who you WANT to be president...in all likelyhood, either Edwards or other. Bill Richardson could be the Dark Horse candidate who wins it.

I'm a Dem, but I'm torn. Obama, McCain, and Giuliani are all good choices. I'm not even opposed to Hillary, either

You forgot to put Joe Biden on your list.

This is like, the 30th thread we've had about will be the next president. Polls too

You need to post pictures and also party affiliations... Otherwise I suspect Hilary is the front runner.

Wait a few months until campaign season gets into swing. Mirko is going to be praying he didn't take away the current event forum.

I'm a rep and out of that list I am voting for Obama. He seems like the best choice to me anyway.

Guiliani's got a few too many scandles.

There's no way in hell Jeb will be on the ticket

If he loses the nomination, I wouldn't mind seeing an Edwards/Richardson ticket, since Edwards would likely need an experience running mate.

This list is not too promising.
I'm gonna have to with Guiliani, Rice, or Obama

To be honest - I really, really, really want to support Obama. As a politician I think he is exactly what America needs.

As a Candidate though, his views are so extremely to the left that I could not in good faith vote for him.

Guiliani is who I will be supporting - though I think Romney may end up with the GOP nomination and is a very electable candidate. Especially if he opposes , say a Hilary Clinton.

If the election was today I would vote for Obama.

Isnt Romney a Mormon? And considering a good 50 percent of the republican party is christians than there's no way Romney gets the nod.

Mormonism is a form of Christianity.

The issue of religion can easily be overlooked though, a smart Romney political consultant could actually turn it into a positive. Make Romney confront nay sayers by saying, yes I am a mormon, my family is Mormon and we are proud of it. If the American people think this disqualifies me as being a credible candidate for the office of President, then so be it - I am not going to hide my religion as if it is something to be ashamed of. I understand the importance of family, religion and values in our culture and for me to betray them merely for power would be unthinkable.

BOOM! Instant props for Romney. Issue solved. Reagan did a similar thing when his age was an issue - he simply turned it around.
