Because it isn't serious. It isn't moving forward true debate of actual topics in politics. It's not a dicussion of Rights, or Government, or the Elections. It's not News Worthy, It's not about Taxes, it's not about a Canidate, it's not about the Issues. It's not about anything that can't be discussed on the Community Forum.

Easy slugger, it doesn't need to be. The call of course, is Kel or Bella's...but it is politically themed. No need to be such a snob, political discourse can be fun as well and silly little things like this make it that way. There is more to politics than ranting about fair tax :cwink:

On a side note:

Who the hell would go to a political lecture by Mark Hammil?

Oky Doky Matthew. Just trying to help keep this serious. You'd da boss.

I knew I would actually have to spell this out to conservatives like they were 3 year olds.

1) Politicians like Obama prove that they're able to generate support from all walks of life.

Yes it is, he's discussing why it's important to vote in this election, for this once in a lifetime candidate.

It's not about Taxes, it's not about a Canidate,

1:52 into the video, proves that you're just being fallacious and bitter

Having a celebrity endorsement does not prove that.

"Once in a lifetime candidate," I've been hearing that thrown around a lot. Amazing how there is a "once in a lifetime candidate," in basically every election cycle.

Watch it with the insults.

I would, this man is an American Icon. Everyones opinion matters, I would follow him over George Bush any day.

That is the problem with our country. You would follow a man who has done basically nothing to deserve it. "He read a script in a movie! That must mean his opinion is more valid than someone elses' and I must follow him!" If people started thinking for themselves we wouldn't be in a position where we had to choose between

A) A bitter old veteran who knows nothing about economics while all signs are pointing to a massive reccession.

B) A one term senator who really has no business being president or even a senator but won that because of her husbands name.

or

C) A senator with less than half a term who really has no business being president, whose entire platform (which he did not even have until 2 weeks before SUPER TUESDAY, mind you) is at best entirely unrealistic and naive yet made it through primaries because he is able to say buzz words like "change" and "hope" in a convincing manner. Skin color didn't hurt either when you have idiots admitting they are voting for him because he is black.

To think, if people actually voted with their heads instead of the stylish way, we would probably be looking at Bill Richardson vs. Ron Paul and our future president would actually be.....QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB! GASP! And I know, it is wrong of me to expect this instead of voting for the candidate who is a good speaker and offers empty promises, and I am probably racist for not voting for the minority...but, I'd just like my president to actually have.....CREDENTIALS FOR THE JOB! NOT JUST LUKE SKYWALKER'S ENDORSEMENT!

I'm a horrible person, I know. :csad:

I agree with Matthew, Celebrity Endorsments mean very little. Economist's, Military Professional's, Busines Leader's and Public Endorsments mean more, than someone who plays for a living. That includes Sports Figures and Ophrah.

DUHHHH... TEH OBAMAZ IS TEH JEDI; TEH BILLARYZ IS TEH SITH!1!!!!1!

Or at least, that's what I'm getting from this conversation. I don't really plan on watching the video. I don't want to watch an endorsement from a washed-up actor who normal folks wouldn't be able to recognize on the streets.

Who is shocked that he is supporting Obama. He is a celebrity it's his duty to fall in line with the cult of personality.

It is negated by the girl sitting next to her. :csad:

I guess you're a glass half-empty guy and I'm a glass half-full.

Perhaps in this instance not the most appropriate cliche

Having a celebrity endorsement does not prove that.

Good try at trying to distort and minimize my original statement. I see short and concise answers don't work for you conservatives. So I guess I'm sentenced to spell everything out for you. Obama's supporters come from all walks of life. Lets start with the Republicans shall we.

Air Force Chief of Staff General Tony McPeak (Former Republican)

Lincoln Chafee, former (R) Senator from R.I

Chuck Hagel (R) Senator from Nebraska

Susan Eisenhower (R) Daughter of President Eisenhower, who worked on G.H Bush's 1988 campaign.

Obama has received more donations from the US military then any other candidate besides Ron Paul.

Also, the Europeans are gravitating towards Obama also. Proving my point, that he generates support from all walks of life.

I rest my case.

Oh really, can you please tell me who's raised more campaign funds then Obama? *Crickets* Can you please tell me who was the last candidate that has generated this amount of support from both sides of the isle. *crickets* can you please tell me when was the last time so many Republicans crossed over to vote for a democratic candidate *crickets*.

Watch it with the insults.

I didn't insult anyone, crushing you in a debate isn't a insult. That's a fact:)

Who the hell would go to a political lecture by Mark Hammil?

I would, and I think that many others would for various reasons. Personally, I feel politics in general is fairly dull and uninteresting most of the time. A lecture by someone who's more entertaining is a change of pace, and can get a message to a wider range of people.

Yes, you did insult Superman Beyond comparing his intelligence to that of a three year old.

Secondly, I'm not a conservative, I'm pretty positive that basically any poster can tell you that. So nice try playing the "You conservatives spin everything" card.

That is the problem with our country. You would follow a man who has done basically nothing to deserve it.

Ok, now here comes the fatality.

Lets talk about qualifications. Every Business that G.W has started has failed miserably. Arbusto, Harken Energy, Spectrum 7 Energy, all failed miserably.

There's no proof that George W. Bush has ever finished his tenure in the air national guard.

Our current economy, has proved that G.W is a horrible executive. If his father wasn't a former president, he would be serving you and me fries at the local burger stop. The man can't even speak in complete sentences.

Can you please provide the evidence of any notable person who said they were voting for Obama because he was Black? Did you vote for Alan Keyes when he ran for President? Did you vote for Carol Mosley Bruan? Did you vote for Cynthia Mckinney who ran on the green party ticket? I know why you didn't, it was because they were Black. I have proof, because all of the other candidates you voted for were white.

To think, if people actually voted with their heads instead of the stylish way, we would probably be looking at Bill Richardson vs. Ron Paul and our future president would actually be.....QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB! Sorry Bud, but Ron Paul was a faliure, a Neo Confederate will never get elected. I see you condem reverend wright, but won't condem the racist that saturate Ron Pauls campaign. Like David Duke and Don Black.

But wouldn't you rather go to a lecture by someone who actually knows the topic as opposed to someone who was in Star Wars?

Great, what is your point? I've probably insulted Bush more than anyone else on this board? I've been part of campaign staffs for Democrats while you were still in diapers.

Are you calling me racist? And define notable. I can quote Hype members who said it?

Sorry Bud, but Ron Paul was a faliure, a Neo Confederate will never get elected. I see you condem reverend wright, but won't condem the racist that saturate Ron Pauls campaign. Like David Duke and Don Black.

1) Ron Paul is a neo-confederate. He is a constitutionalist.

2) Ron Paul's campaign is not noteworthy enough to criticize him for them. In otherwords, no one cares about Ron Paul, why should I?

3) The only reason I mentioned him was to illustrate that he is far more qualified to be President of the United States than any of the current candidates, which is quite simply just a fact. Same with Richardson. Their credentials are the most impressive. If this were a job interview, they would win the position. That was all I was saying.

But wouldn't you rather go to a lecture by someone who actually knows the topic as opposed to someone who was in Star Wars?

Who's to say that Mark Hammill doesn't know politics?

But to answer the question entirely honestly, I'd probably go to the lecture by the person who knows the topic, but my attendance would also hinge on my interest in the topic as well.
