Why do people hate "Hudson Hawk"?

Well, I find this movie to be really super enjoyable; Richard E. Grant is funny as always, Bruce is great at playing the lovable yet sleazy protagonist, and the movie is well plotted and paced. I often watch this movie and wonder why people refer to it as the Plan 9 from outerspace of the 1990s. I personally see the movie as a great popcorn flick and a great nod to Clockpunk fiction. I also find the robbery sequences with Tommy Five-tone to be enjoyable. This movie is the DaVinci Code but funnier and with a slicker plot.

I would've loved to hate it, but I never even heard of it before.

Oh NOIR, why did you have to have that Avay. I haven't seen the new season of Who yet. :(

Well actually its Mr. Saxon and the Professor. I thought they'd look good in there.

Remember the Doctor is the last living Time Lord.

Plan 9 from outerspace of the 1990s.

No movie ever achieved the terrible bizarre wonder of Plan 9 (though Coleman Francis certainly tried).

But yeah, Hudson Hawk is a very fun movie. It certainly has its flaws though, especially the strong late 80s early 90s datedness to the comedy, especially the fact Sandra Bernhard has a major role.

It's also EXTREMELY indulgent on the part of Willis, who wrote the damn thing. It seems like he tried to take John McLane and made him more lovable and a funny character and the result is kind of awkward.

But yeah, I love the clockpunk stuff, it's got fun action scenes, and it's always good to see Andie McDowell in a movie.

oh.. I think he was trying to take his character from Moonlighting and mix him with John McClane.

It has some cool stuff. Like burglary accompanied by songs, and henchmen with names of candybars. But overall it feels forced and isn't half as funny as it wants to be.

I love Hudson Hawk

Maybe the movie audiences weren't ready for lovable Willis...

Or maybe just Frank Stallone :p (I love to tell people "That's stallone brother" while watching the movie)

Yeah, I haven't watched much Moonlighting, but from what I have that sounds about right.

Honestly, even that's fine, my only real problem with it is the dated, odd nature of its comedy.
