The reason why many people hate this film

Maybe we should wait for the weekend numbers. While I agree with you that the potential is there, we must also realize the film has made well over $200 million in just six days.

Because of advertise & awareness. Like Bosef said in his thread just because its making Money which ANY MOVIE CAN. Does not mean the General Public / Main Stream Audience likes it. I can see most just simply checking out the Third Movie in a Franchise & all that. There willa lways be plenty of "curiosities" out there but hey like Bosef said in that one Thread he made a while ago just because a Movie makes Money hell Uwe Boll Movies make Money :o does not mean People are going back. Well aside from the die hards

People seem to like it...

"Playing at 3,690 sites, X-Men: The Last Stand averaged a stunning $32,554 per screen. Exit polls revealed an average A- response to the Brett Ratner-helmed movie, which brings back Dr. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) in the guise of Dark Phoenix and adds the characters of Dr. Henry McCoy (a blue fuzz-covered Kelsey Grammer), Warren Worthington III (an angel-winged Ben Foster) and a new, potentially mutant-eliminating story twist to the established conflict between the Xavier (Patrick Stewart) troupe--Storm (Halle Berry) Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) Cyclops (James Marsden) and Rogue (Anna Paquin)-- and the Magneto (Ian McKellen) mob--Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) and Pyro (Aaron Stanford)."

"According to exit surveys, "Last Stand" should have some sturdy legs in the weeks to come as a robust 93% of those polled gave the film favorable marks, according to CinemaScore. The ensemble feature, starring Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Anna Paquin, played more male, with 63% of the audience from that gender group."

My cousin saw this movie twice. He is in no way a fan of the X-Men. He enjoys the movies, but he has never touched a comic. I LOVE his taste in movies. He is a huge movie buff.
I was worried about his reaction to the film after we saw it the first time. The only complaint he had was that Angel wasn't in it a lot. The fact that he went to see it again prooves he liked it. He never goes to the theater to see a movie more than once, especially in 3 days time.

It absurd to say "critics hate it" or "people hate it". Why the generalizations? I´ve watched the movie 3 times so far, and didn´t see people leaving the cinemas or screaming in disgust. The friends that went with me all loved it. I don´t know about the US, but here in Brazil the critics didn´t destroy the movie. It was very well received, even praised by our most important weekly magazine and newspaper.
To me the movie has flaws, of course, it´s far from perfect, but the hysteria and destructive mood I´ve seen in many posts around here is truly disturbing.
Makes me think that Bryan Singer was right when he said he feared he would be killed by angry fanboys if they didn´t like the footage of X-Men he showed at the Comic Con...

i dont care when the professor x's death scene happened as long as it happened it was such a great scene its not like he was gonna contribute to much of anything to the battle so...might as well find an entertaining way to find a solution

My friends who know about X men and who were fans way before the movies seemed to have mixed feelings. Everyone else seemed to like it, but they missed Nightcrawler. Though a lot seem to think it wasn't as good as the other films.

And a lot of people loved Angel, which is great. I thought no one would think he was cool.

If peeps wanted true war, they would enlist and fight in Iraq.

Movies are a way to escape the tragedy of life. Especially the summer popcorn fluff movies.

So maybe the movie should have ended with a big musical number? Hugh could have brought his maracas from "The Boy From Oz" finale.

This movie is doing so well right now, it practically doesn't matter what happens this weekend. I'll go from the "everyone I know" theory...because most people I've spoken too really liked it. I've seen it twice--the 2nd time was a weekday afternoon, and it was still decently crowded.

I'm sorry to whoever didn't like it...but keep in mind plenty of people did.
