Sequels Why Do We Need A Sequel?!!!

You are either very stupid or have no imagination.

The kid plot has many possible stories to tell.
Aww did I hurt your feelings? Do you insult anyone who doesn't like the movie? Or just the ones who point out the real flaws and it drives you to post out of spite?

Superman Returns was obviously met with mixed feelings and reviews. But that's what director like Bryan Singer are good at. They look at what went right and keep it and then they look at what went wrong and fix it. I am personally looking forward to the sequel and seeing an alien villian in it. I think that Bryan Singer will take the fighting and alien effects to a whole new level. You gotta have some faith. After The Usual Suspects, the first two X-Men films, and (IMO) Superman Returns... you can't help but have some.

Thats not a sign of a good director. That is a sign of someone who doesn't understand his medium enough to do it right the first time. Any moderatley intelligent person can learn from their mistakes and do better with a second try. Its the ones who do it right the first time who deserve our admiration for their real brilliance.

It might not have been perfect... but there a lot of director's that would've done much, much worse. Could you imagine if we would've gotten a *****ing Tim Burton directed film written by Wesley Strick starring Nicholas Cage as Superman, Sandra Bullock as Lois Lane, and CHRIS ROCK AS JIMMY OLSEN?! Compared to ANY of the recent attempts, this SUPERMAN definitely soars, with no question. I think we need to be grateful we got a true adapation instead of those ***** films.

Bryan Singer should make a sequel and a prequel back to back, that way he could release the prequel six months after his sequel comes out.The prequel could be cool,Singer could show the origins, and give us a better Zod vs Superman fight in that movie.

O God No. Bryan Needs to focus on the sequel so it doesnt suck as bad as Returns did. Hopefully 2nd times the charm

Nice reply and very appropriate, don't you think?

You are a very, very unpleasant person on these boards. Just because YOU have an opinion, doesn't make it any better or "valid" than anyone else.

Bryan needs to quit trying and let spielberg do what he does.

Ok people play nice

Oh I definitely think there should be a sequel, what would be the point of bringing Superman back to the big screen, doing one film, and then dropping it again.

Oh God! don't mention Burton, I just start to shiver at the thought of him trying to do Superheroes again.

What are the top five reasons why you guys hated SR?

1. The Kid - Jason was an unnecessary plot device
2. The lack of a really great climax ala a superbattle
3. The continuation of the Donner franchise
4. The lack of a segue into a sequel ala Batman Begins
5. Having unnecessary characters and/or wasting talent in the film ala Parker Posey, Peta Wilson, Kumar
6. The Lex Luthor being too aligned with the original franchise. I would have preferred the corporate Lex from the DCAU.
7. The whack pack writing team of Harris/Daugherty. We waited this many years to see Lex pursue another land scheme
8. The directing approach and ego of Bryan Singer

We need a sequel because we've yet to see a great modern day Superman film.

it's kinda funny you say that because I feel like we need a sequel to this film because we finally got a GOOD Superman film. I know my dislike for Superman 1 & 2 puts me at odds with many people on these boards, but it takes different strokes to move the world, I guess.

The kid ruined any chance of a quality superman sequel...

Why make up a kid? Supergirl could have just came in a much later movie and would have been a better ideal. This made up kid hurt the new superman movies for me.

To me the kid is up there with Nuclear Man!

I do not want to see superman and his son tag teaming a bad guy in a movie. A supergirl later on would have open up the doors for better things.

Its already a sequel to the first films (well superman 1 and 2) and i thought the ending was so superb that they could end it here and now.

You don't want a sequel? Don't bother to watch it.

Superman Returns is one of the best film ever since Superman The Movie and II.

I want a sequel, not done by Brian Singer.
