Freshly squeezed orange juice actually will have the proper taste. Orange juice bought from the store is obviously made to be preserved longer for a decent refrigerator life.
Try drinking apple cider (the non-alcoholic stuff) then try the apple juice they sell in a grocery store. The store stuff is ****ing nasty because you can taste all the chemicals after drinking the cider for a while.
To meet demand orange juice manufacturers have to make massive amounts which is stored in huge huge vats. The oxygen is sucked out of the storage tanks to preserve the juice until it's packaged. Sucking the oxygen out and storing it like that strips the flavor and even the color out of the juice which requires the manufacturer to then dye and reflavor the juice with "natural" flavors before it is put in the carton.
That's why store bought orange juice tastes different from fresh.
