Why don't aliens ever use bullets?

Because it is a widely recognized fact in Hollywood that any race capable of mastering intergalactic space travel must use lasers as ammunition.

transformers uses energy bolts, not bullets.

anyway..

Think about it: If aliens came to our civilization, it's clear that they have the tech to do so. They have the ships capable to zoom through the cosmos and end up being at our planet.

On the other hand, we can go as far..as the moon..and Mars..well, we're working on it.

So yeah, I would assume that they would have surpass 'bullets' and settled on 'lasers'. Or as the silly Bayformers would use: energy balls.

Because they're a bunch of nerds who care more about the technology behind a weapon than its aesthetic or practical application.

That's because pistols use gas blowback as a means for reloading. If you had a motorized gun, though, it wouldn't be a problem.

I think, personally, the real question is, why don't aliens ever blow their noses? I've never seen them do it.

No. A better question is why don't we ever see anyone use the bathroom in Star Wars or Star Trek. We haven't even seen a bathroom all together.

Acid for blood worked better than snot anyway.

Anyway, as we saw with Starship Troopers aliens prefer to aim their bottoms at things and fire ship-destroying... umm... nuggets.

In Roddenberry's utopia, humans have evolved beyond the need to go to the bathroom.

Feh, physical projectiles are so last millenium. :o

Well, slow-mo shots from both films showed Ironhide and Optimus using some form of artilery shells, so they weren't exclusively using energy weapons.

wouldn't oxygen be an issue? Nothing can burn without it... would powder even ignite in a vacuum? Space Shuttles need to carry liquid oxygen for that purpose no?

The Mangalores used bullets in The Fifth Element.

I think the more logical question would be how can aliens even use laser guns? The weapon would dangerously heat up and burn the shooter's hand. Even worse, those things are radioactive - especially the death rays. The electromagnetic discharge is enough to give you cancer.
