Will SM3 be believable? or even logical?!

Will all these fictional storylines ruin the film for the casual movie-goer?

  • Definitly, only spidey-fans for this one

  • Not if they've seen the first 2 movies.

  • No, Raimi can make them believe

  • Have faith, young grassmoker, all will be well. the movie will kick almost TOO much butt

have faith, young grassmoker (what the hell?), all will be well. this thread is almost TOO supid.

LOL the theories on page one are funny and way off. Wasnt there like ten other polls before this anyways? Whatever they are dead now. This one will be fine

I am sure everyone that sees SM3 will have a sci fi or horror movie that has ideas and storylines just as far fetched as anything Spider-Man has ever done.

I’m sure it’s going to be great!
Sam knows what fans want
Unlike most superhero producers out there!

suspend your beliefs. Its based off a comic book. Or do you want spiderman to battle lex luthor over real estate dispute? Alright so let it go spiderman series is the best out so far.

we're being asked to believe that aliens suddenly exist now

COME ON, HERE..

almost???
It baffles me that someone would actually ask this about a comic book movie. If someone has that special olympics picture, it would apply here.

Ok, i know you must suspend all beliefs and humanly characteristics for movies like this but, let me break down all the things that might (MIGHT) make this fail for regular movie-goers:

- An asteriod or whatever comes to earth with an alien substance on it which is like a parasite and can form to any shape, has intelligent thoughts and ideas and can cause its host to not be concious of its actions

-A man escapes a new jersey prision (i say NJ bc of the new photos on the front page) and ends up retreating to somekind of radiation or energy testing facility on a beach and gets caught up in it while sand particles form with his body.

- man goes insane due to a toxic serum/hallucenogen and flies through the air on a jet board with miniture bombs:bomb: and knives, while seeing his dead father order im around and have conversations with him.

- and also, if spidey just goes all black then why does Venom have large, sharp teeth and a large long tongue and spidey doesn't?:venom:

these are facts from the film which to me seem like the casual movie-goer may be angered/confused by

1- Venom is created from hate
2- It makes him look cooler:)

these are exactly my worries but I have faith in raimi

thanks to you last few posters for not flaming

i also love raimi and trust him of course this movie will kick

i just thought id state the COMMON worries of fans of the series

plus how long have we been WAITING FOR VENOM???

i remember raimi saying he'd never direct a film with venom in it, and also i heard about an all-venom film a while back

but with the symbiote in the teaser people WILL EXPECT HIM to be in this film

i will kill someone in the theater if venom is a cliffhanger i cant wait another 2-3 years dangit

Venom will def not be in 3rd movie!! HE WILL BE CLIFFHANGER!! sandman and gg2 will be enough. all of this is of course IMO

The best way to give a casual audience an explanation for the symboite is to have Dr. Conners examine it and tell Parker what it might be. That way theorys can develop without getting one of those *insult the audience with a direct explanation* kind of moments. Plus, it would be wicked to get more Conners for the big Spidey fans.

first let me say that I am a huge fan of the Spider-Films. I not only watch movies but I write them and from what I've seen in the trailer, not only is the possible completely thrown out the window but the plausible as well.
Harry's snow board glider, lame. The giant sandman... lame. and venom.. lame. The reason I use such harsh words is becaue the last few movies were at least grounded somewhat but this one is not. So far as I've seen. I could be proven wrong. But the snow board is too much of a leap of tech. At least the goblin glider looked plausible enough to work. CGI giant sandman looks very hokey. Ocks arms again were at least plausible. And until I get a real answer as to the symbiot I can't comment on it in the movie, just that it is a bad idea in the comics and a bad idea here

\I agree with the snowboard glider and giant Sandman, but we haven't even seen Venom yet! Have some faith!

Raimi knows what he's doing. He'll make it believable. Heck if Raimi said that if I set myself on fire that I could become the Human Torch I'd do it in a second!

i agree with you all but blitz....if venom is not in this movie dont you think THOUSANDS of fans will be deeply upset because everything we've seen implicates toward VENOM in the movie....

But guys...dont let my topic get you down i guarenteee!!!! that this film will surpass our doubts

if raimi said i could become napkin man by eating napkins...id do it

Remember that spidey is generally based on fantasy and the idea is to escape reality; thats what makes it fun.

And on the subject of Venom's teeth, based on the comics and the cartoon, the symbiote can take many shapes and forms that the victim decideds to enforce. I remember reading somewhere the Eddie Brock purposefully choose to give himself the teeth and the tongue in order to look more frightening. It's just the apperance he decided to take on top of the black original suit.

Venom "the symbiote" would hide the teeth from Parker, knowing full well that venoms true nature would not please Parker and his mentality...When brock takes on the Symbiote it can show its true nature because it sense brocks darkness........
