BvS Will you check early review/or scores of Batman v Superman, or avoid till you see it?

Just curious if anyone would be looking into how the movie is reviewed or scored on popular sites, when available before they get a chance to see the film. Is that something you guys try to avoid? Or do you get a comfort if you would know beforehand for example it's sitting at like a 90% on rottentomatoes. Then again, you could be one of those hippies claiming that the only review that matters is your own ;)

Considering I don't give a crap about RT, no. I'll go in with my hype in tow.

I will avoid because yeah the only review matters is my own:cwink:. If I like the film, no one will change my mind on that. They can point out flaws and say they didn't like it and I'll respect their opinion, but it has no effect in my enjoyment of the movie.

I hate to say it, but I know I'll be watching the RT score like a hawk.

Yeah, sure. I'll look at just the aggregate RT tomato-meter score once the first reviews come out. I won't read any of the reviews, though. I did that for TFA and Mad Max: Fury Road and it didn't even come close to harming my viewing of the film or anything.

The tomato-meter is actually a pretty good indicator most of the time for me, so I think it would be spoilerish without details just from knowing score.

I can sort of relate to this, but there are exceptions to most every rule. MoS ended up with a 56 and I love that film. In fact over time it has become my second favorite CBM of all time. Watchmen and 300 also did not score fantastically high (65 and 60, respectively), and those are two of my all-time favorite films. Sin City didn't make it into the 80 (78) and I love the film. By the same token, although I enjoyed Mad Max: Fury Road, I personally would not grade it anywhere near as high as 97 (for my own enjoyment).

Yeah, I feel like the RT score is usually a good indicator of a film's quality if it's really high or really low. It's when its in that middle to better-than-average area (I'd say between 45 and 75%) where it could go either way. For example, I'd say MOS and Out of the Furnace (which also came out in 2013) should be much higher than their respective scores, whereas I'd have put Thor: The Dark World at around 30% at best.

Putting the score into letter grade terms, Dark World a F-? The villain was lackluster for sure. It struggled with its pacing. But it was still sorta fun to watch Loki and Thor team up, though, no?

I will simply see the film, I don't need a on-line score or a review or something telling me it's 'fresh', I know I will enjoy it, nothing will persuade me from enjoying it and I am going to see it regardless. I am the only person to tell me if I won't like it.

The dependency for some people to hold another's opinion on whether they like something or not is frightening, says everything about the fragile & hope-less society we live in today.

Normally, I do look at RT reviews or read a few movie reviews before I go to see the movie..... This time however, I am avoiding all reviews and sites like Rotten Tomatoes.

No reviews for me till I see the movie myself.

It will be very hard to avoid and kind of review for the movie. Whether it's good, bad, or somewhere in between, you can bet that articles with click-bait headlines will be everywhere as soon as those advanced screenings take place.

I'll read them out of my own curiosity but they won't change my mind about seeing it or dampen my hype going in.

I'll be reading reviews and checking the ratings. Though I will avoid the more spoiler filled reviews.

I'll read the RottenTomato score, but not the reviews. If it has anywhere near a 70 on RT, I think that's the sign we're in for something special.

I'll be avoiding comingsoon.net for a week or two beforehand cuz they post the jist of their review on the front page with the article...

No i wont look at any reviews in fact i will stay away from shh and social media sites the week it opens. This movie is too important to me lol.

edit:
Actually i will look at my big 3 reviewers. Chris Stuckman-Jeremy Jahns and The Schmoes.

I will do what I do with like any movie I have any interest in seeing. I will look to see what kind of reviews it is getting on RT but I never read the reviews just look to see the score. Then after I see the movie I will either agree or think the score is to high or to low. If the movie gets kind of a low score I will be some what worried but not completely because there are so many movies I like or love that are consider ok or bad and so many consider good or great that I think are just ok or suck. So I disagree with a lot of general consistes for movies.

I feel asleep. No lying or bias

I'll avoid early reviews/RT scores mainly because I want to go in as unbiased as possible. I'm attending one of the early screenings though (still waiting for that e-mail, WB!), so when I see it reviews may not even be out yet.

I may possibly check the scores for a few but doubt I'd read the reviews

I'll check IGN. I'm usually in agreement with their reviews. Other than that, nope. Not every movie needs to be an Oscar contender. Entertain me and I'll be fine.

I would love to know if it is over 70%, but if it were a bad RT score I think it would lower my spirits a bit knowing beforehand. That may impact my enjoyment of the movie somewhat seeing it first time for some reason.

Why? I, and I'm sure you as well, see movies that critics rip that I enjoy. It's a number.
