Shailene Woodley (ABC's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager") is set to star opposite George Clooney in Alexander Payne's The Descendants, reports Variety.
Based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings, the revolves around an attorney (Clooney) who is forced to get closer to his daughters after a family tragedy. Woodley will play the oldest daughter.
Nat Faxon and Jim Rash wrote the script.
Payne will helm the pic and produce along with Jim Burke from a script adapted by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.
