Would you like to see a live action Flashpoint movie in this cinematic universe?

Yeah then we could actually get WW, Aquaman, Batman, Superman etc;

The Flash TV show is really prevented from doing a true adaptation

A Flashpoint movie would be a bit of a mess, if you ask me. There's no reason to do it, especially when the DCEU is just getting started.

Yes but not for a while

This is my biggest criticism of these comic book universes coming to film... What's wrong with coming up with original ideas and stories? Why do we have to keep rehashing story ideas from other mediums and dragging them into film?

I for one hope they never do Flashpoint and that they slowly get away from remaking comic book storylines. Change up the trend already, do something new.

Because there's great source material already that the vast majority of the population will never know unless it's turned into a film.

I'm not against original ideas though. It's just nice to see some amazing concepts being brought to the big screen. Otherwise, why even represent Batman like he is in the comics? Let's just create a completely new character with the same name and outfit just for film.

I like both. Taking the source material, honoring it, but also remixing it with enough original ideas that it becomes fresh and surprising.

Just no

The source material is already there. They should put their own spin on things though, while taking major inspiration from the source. Even TDKT really drew from the comics

BB is Year One and The Man Who Falls
TDK is TLH, TKJ and the first Golden Age appearances of Joker mixed
TDKR is No Man's Land, TDKReturns and Knightfall

I don't really want to see entirely new stories, I'd rather see new spins on existing stories that have been merged together. Basically the TDKT formula

I can understand taking the characters, themes, the tone, symbolism, etc. from the comics. But the storylines? The actual plot? Maybe it's just me, but that's just lazy. Tell me something new, something I haven't seen or heard.

You make a good point though which also explains why comic book films have found so much popularity lately. In an era where Hollywood is remaking and rebooting everything in sight, DC and Marvel have tons of ideas and characters that haven't been tapped into until now. So for Average Joe, it's great. But as a fan of comic books already, I'd rather them not recreate stories that were done in the comics and put them on the big screen, because the comics are frankly better.

Fresh and surprising. That sounds amazing.

I can get with this idea of honoring the source material in as far as the characters are concerned. Interpretations and iterations are fine, just create a new story around it.

So basically the MCU

THE formula already exists. The MCU is pretty much perfect, the DCEU should follow their lead

I disagree with that, the MCU is very formulaic, yes the movies are fun but most of them IMO have no re watch value. Add to that the MCU is not particularly surprising then I don't think that formula exists as succesful as some think it does.

This is not an aspect with the tv show. They've changed so much from the material they might as well call it something else. They honor barely anything.

Where Thomas Wayne is Batman and he DOESN'T kill?

(this was a joke, I can't wait to see if anyone takes this too seriously)

maybe but not for a long time. first you have to get a few flash movies under your belt before you even consider doing a flashpoint event.

As soon as possible. It's the easiest way to reset this universe.

No! Its not even started yet why have elseworld crap in the movies. Let these characters start their film lives before trying to alter them.

They pretty much messed up the The Dark Knight Returns so......maybe no.

That was an event as stupid as all the events in comics.
Made to reset the timeline and start anew for DCU.
But then it failed and DC retconned it.
Who wants to see stupidity done in movies?
When I didn't want to see it happen in the TV universe.
