X3's competition getting slammed by critics!

Best horror movie ever...................

and yes, it's considered to be horror over science fiction
Hmm.. imo it has elements of horror but put together with more class of a scifi film ;)

I consider it scifi.

Alien is amazing...still scary as hell.

I'm totally stunned that DaVinci is getting as panned as it so far. But it may be critic proof this weekend, since so many fans of the book will probably see it this weekend.

But I'm loving this X3 reviews so far. :)

I consider it scifi.

I considered Alien to be a haunted house in outer space, it has all the elements of horror,

Unstoppable monster/killer

Tension

Victims unable to escape

Dark hallways

and a chick wearing in-mini undies, I can see your butt crack!!!!!

Sure it has all the good salvageable qualities of a film like that, but its got much more story and puts that element into a science fiction element instead of some run of the mill satanic plot etc... thats what i like about it. Tension with a realistic twist imo.

and Weaver's butt crack:eek:

Scifi films have the best of both worlds imo. Action and story.

As for Davinci code, Hanks i love, but plotwise, ive noticed religion cannot be shattered by some factiod hehe.

I think that's what the critics are expecting, that this movie will show us faults with the church, ....... so they are thinking that this movie is not doig what it should, but in reality, it's just a mystery....

who know's, maybe it does blow

what's you favorite sci fi films??

top 5

1) Star Wars saga

2) Alien and Aliens (for sake of argument)

3) Planet of the Apes (the original)

4) Pitch Black (Vins best role)

5) Terminator 1 and 2

Ah....

ive checked star wars out.. had a short time where i was exploring it all.. but ultimately not a fan.

My tops in no particular order: Aliens/Terminator/Predator/X-Men/Batman (89s and Nolans are supreme)

I like Spideman and Superman for fun factor. Theyre like action comedies, and i think Alien 3, Predator 2 and hulk were muddled but entertaining films... (braces for impact ;) )

And another thing about Davinci... i think the critics are noticing perhaps the weak notion of a fact only some people acknowledge taking down religion and perhaps that is effecting their view of it dunno.

Alien 3 is by far the best filmed bad movie ever......... the quality shots in that film were astounding

Top five:

1. Original Star wars
2. Terminator
3. X2
4. Aliens (love the marines vs. aliens) need to do that type of film again
5. The Thing (the movie still makes me cringe to this day)

doesn't it make you sick that both Cameron and Ridley Scott wanted to team up together and do an Alien 5, but fox turned them down to make AVP

don't remind me :( Wasn't Aliens 5 going to be about the aliens arriving on Earth. That would have been good.

No. It makes me angry and shows how stupid Fox really are when it comes to product.

Didn't AICN post a script review of AVP2. I believe it was pretty much doo-doo.

acutally, remember the daralect space craft in Alien, it was going to be about that, "Where did that come from?", remember, the aliens were not indigunous to LV426, they were brought there, so Alien 5 was going to be about the Alien home world............

go to AICN, the have an interview with Cameron, and they have a script review of AVP2, looks god awful, Aliens vs preditors vs cowboys

LV426 this man here knows his stuff. Thanks for the refresher course : )

For some reason I feel bad at The DaVinci Code reviews and I don't wanna make fun at them... after all we don't know how most critics will react to X3. It might have a lower rank at RT than DaVinci (of course I don't want that to happen).

damn straight, I know the movie universe of Aliens like the back of my hand.............

aren't you curious about the "space Jockey' and why he was carrying a spaceship full of alien eggs.....

1. Star Wars Episode V

3. Fifth Element
4. X-men
5. Battlestar Galactica miniseries

Honorable mention: Starship Troopers.

OK so 45 critics came to and 18% consensus right now (cream and all = 18%). Usually, an average of 130 critics rate big films. That means 85 to go. if 15 of those 85 (or about 1/6) give it a negative review, this movie will be certified rotten. Now I agree with the "go with the flow" theory to a certain extent (but if the Cannes audience burst out laughing at one of the emotional climaxes, then there's definitely a problem with this film), so I think this film has about Zero chance of having overall positive reviews. An average rating of less than 2 stars doesn't help either.

Funny thing is, Roer Ebert gave it a positive review. When I noticed that (I'm not a fan of his reviews at all), It made me think that if it didn't show at overly pretentious and slightly anti-American Cannes, would it have had better reviews now?

OMG that would have been so frickin cool.
It would be like Halo, except a horror film.

Of course I am.

They need to start that franchise up again, and forget about the AVP2.
