endorsement deals with several high profile companies, web journals, a dvd of those journals, toys, games, a novelization, coloring books, posters, god...i don't even remember what else...but King Kong was EVERYWHERE.

i highly doubt X3 is going to make Star Wars money. X-Men doesn't have the same pull as Star Wars. sorry, but SW has a bigger fanbase which lead to it's incredibly high box office.

Look AD stop. You have no facts to back up that this film will do 100 mil in 4 days when no film has done that in a long time, sorry it won't happen.

There's no reason why X3 couldn't feasibly make over $90 million in 4 days--even $100 million is possible. It's the first *big* summer action film for most people (and especially the younger crowd).

What is DaVinci's current score? I can't get onto Rotten.
 
If they make up half the budget over those 4 days then they'll greenlight X4

This is an estimate not life or death Shadow. Why do I need facts to post an opinion. However, X2 making 85 million in 3 days with lower ticket prices should be enough to assume X3 could do the same if not more on a 4 day holiday weekend. Give me a break. There are no facts in guessing box office totals. It hasn't happened yet. All we can do is give our best educated guess. It helps to have an education though. What's a long time? Last Summer? LOL When was the last X-Men film? X2? Yep and that did it and wasn't as big of a deal as this film.

I'm right and you'll all be nowhere to be found when I plaster opening weekend #'s and you guys are all hiding. :)

Yeah these guys are real accurate:D

I think we all have to understand that this site is slightly....biased....towards X-Men in these parts. There are a large percentage of the population who don't care enough to see this film and may be much more attracted to the Da Vinci Code or other movies. It does not have a ton of buzz on my campus, in fact I had to be the one to suggest going next week, no one really cared to see it.

I wait until the bigger names start going on and posting reviews, Movies tend to start out high and then sink...but I am sure 60% range will be about where it ends up.

Well I don't know that most critics like Ratner, plus the cream of the crop probably by and large won't like it....70% maybe.
 
i hate that critics let bias get into their reviews. :o
i'm willing to give a shot at a higher standing, thus far the reviews seem to be mixed but more to the favorable side of things. here's hoping that's what happens when the big guns review it.
 
the Davinci Code is sold out in milwaukee right now, I was lucky enough to get tickets for the 730 showing tomorrow........ but you know what, this movie will make 50 million this weekend

just because it is memerial day weekend, it really doesn't mean that much, most people I know go do something outside, me, for instance, I'm going rafting and camping, so I will not be able to see x3 till the following weekend. Look at first weekend grosses for money the past few years, movies are steadly declining, X3 will probably make between 50 and 60 million next weekend, then another 15 to 20 million over sunday and monday, it will make a decent amout of money, I just find it unlikely that it will make 100 or more, they is alot of marketing going on, but from what I can tell, there really isn't alot of "water cooler" talk about this movie, there's been more about the Davinci code IMO... hense it being sold out over here...... Star Wars has it's fanboys, like x-men, but much much bigger. Plus star wars has the exrta "nostalgic" aspect going for it when it was released.... all I'm saying is if critics are harsh or so so for x3, it's going to drop it's weekend tottals, and I have a feeling this will happen, this is not a "critics" film, it doesn't poccess qualities that most critics enjoy, it's a summer time fun movie...... I think it will be lucky to make over 180 million this summer domesticaly.... there's too many things comming out, with cars, supes, and pirates that people are salvating for....... I know bring up superman on an x-board is a bad idea, but be realalistic, Superman is more popular then x-men, and it also has the "nestalga (i know I'm spelling that wrong)" going for it........

It's hard on action movies to get the CoC to like it though sadly.

I'm guessing it will between 45% and 55%.......... DON"T BLOW UP EITHER.... that's just my feeling...... I may be wrong, I might be right, I might be guessing to high, we will find out in a few days tho:)

No I didn't. Someone else claimed Star Wars made 108 million and said than no way X3 would make Star Wars #'s. The fact is Star Wars made 158 million in 4 days and there is no comparision because my # and SW #'s are 58 million apart. I never suggested there was a comparison.
