The next generation is looming closer and closer, and after much backtracking and kowtowing it appears that both consoles are now more or less on an even keel. So, come this holiday season, which direction are you headed? Xbone? PS4? Or something else?

Playstation 4 for me. I preordered the Xbox One after their E3 conference, but quickly canceled and preordered a PS4 after Sony's conference and haven't looked back since.

I like Sony's first party games better than Microsoft's, inFamous looks incredible, and PS+ has been an amazing thing over the last year. Not to mention all the cool indie and f2p games.

I'm probably going to end up with Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, and Killzone at launch.

I'll be getting a xbox one once Titanfall comes out. I prefer everything about that system and the online will be better but I think both consoles are going to be incredible and should be a great next 10 years of gaming

I had the PS4 preordered but canceled it today cause I decided to just wait till sometime next year(likely during my tax return early next year),I haven't checked up much on XBO after E3 since my plan has been PS4 but I've been curious about XBO for some reason and now I'm not fully sure which Zi'll go with eventually

PS4 overall seems more powerful&better than XBO in terms of specs,I don't know **** about specs and so exactly how much powerful&better is PS4 and will it be noticeable??

Have PS4 pre-ordered.

Funny, the PS4 is much smaller than the Xbone yet the PS4 has more power

Well, Sony is first and foremost a hardware manufacturer and they know a thing or two about making consumer electronics. Microsoft on the other hand is a primarily a software company and it shows. I'm sure they don't want a repeat of the RROD fiasco, so I'm assuming they're giving the internals of the Xbone plenty of room to breath. That's my guess on why it's so big anyway.

Still have both preordered at Amazon. Leaning Xbox One, but iv also come to the realization that...i have no damn money. Not sure if I'll be able to get either come launch.

Leaning Xbox simply because I invested way more time in the 360 then the PS3.

I really need to get around to paying the last $100 due on my X1 preorder.

It'll be a while before I get a next-gen console, but I'm leaning toward the PS4 for a first purchase. Mostly due to the Xbone's rocky start, though I'm thinking now that it will probably be a fine console once all is said and done.

The main deciding factor will be which console has the game I most want to play on it.

Definitely PS4, it just makes too much sense.

But I will probably get a Xbox One down the line.

Xbox One. It has way more games I'm interested in right now; Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, Killer Instinct, Halo, Quantum Break, maybe Ryse & maybe Forza 5. Meanwhile, PS4 just has InFamous & maybe that Order game. I'll get a PS4 whenever Naughty Dog comes out with their first game, since ND is the best thing about PS IMO.

Plus, I just like Xbox more than PS. The controller, the interface, achievements. It sounds a bit fanboyish, but I still want a PS4... just not right now.

I don't think that should be a deciding point. Especially with all the things the PS4 has going for it.

You do know the Xbox/PS4 controllers are completely different as are the interfaces, and most the critics seem to prefer both on the PS4.

But of course PS4 for me.

Sony has better game devs under them, (Sony always has the best exclusive games) a more powerful console, apparently better controller, better interface, better design, PS+ is beyond awesome, cheaper by a hundred. Pretty simple choice.

From what I've read on XBO and seen on YouTube..It's not really blowing me away much and so I'm still leaning more towards PS4 but that can still change by next year when I go next gen.

I really want to like XBO cause I've been more into MS/Xbox than Sony/PS,I'm not a total fanboy since I enjoyed PS1&2 and love my PS3 but I preferred original Xbox and the 360 for most of this gen,I had both the 360 and PS3 but then I went with just one console and will probably be doing the same this new gen

PS4 for me.

but I'm gonna wait till next year.

not interested in the X1 until it drops the Kinect camera.

but even without Kinect, PS4 seems more appealing.

I'm leaning Playstation but I am still getting both on their release days.

Getting XB1 at launch but I expect to be playing last gen games for another 4 or 5 years at the same time. From the beginning of last gen I'd decided to pretty much buy every gaming system from the major companies from then on (although with Sony at the heart of it all) but in the end I've not been organised enough to play them all equally and it creates way too much clutter. Plus even when I'm playing single player I want to be contactable by friends so I can quickly jump into co-op or multiplayer and also continue talking with them while playing something different the whole time, which is not easy if I'm playing on a different system half the time. And even owning everything didn't give me the ability to play with any new person I met as I still needed to buy multiple copies of the same game for different systems if I had it on a different system to them. :csad:

So for this gen I'll probably not buy a wii U at all and my neighbour will get a PS4. I'll still buy my Gods of War & Uncharteds to display on the shelf but play all the PS exclusives (of which I'm sure I'll love many) at his house. I'm still very excited about this console even though I may never own one.

If Microsoft create something as good as Steam for PC linked with your XBox account, XBox friends and game history/achievements I'd become a 75% pc gamer overnight. Even with optimisation and not needing to perform as many functions, the specs of both of them aren't going to be impressive at all in 8 years time.

PS4 is an obvious choice for me...I MAY get an Xbox One. I'm not sure yet...if I do it won't be for at least a year or two. There's just nothing on it (so far) that screams "buy me!"

I don't think critics are outright preferring the ps4s pad, they're just really impressed it's no longer a piece of s**t. It was hard for ms to go any higher with the 360s design as it was one of the better pads made. There were less major changes in comparison(as there didn't need to be compared to Sonys pad)

I don't think that should be a deciding point. Especially with all the things the PS4 has going for it.

I've put a lot of time into achievements on some of my 360 games though. Also I've put a lot of money into Halo and Gears collectibles. The idea of having all this Gears and Halo stuff and not even playing the games anymore wouldn't make sense to me. Too much sentimental value on the Xbox side for me at the moment.

Ok, so can anyone tell me if stores are supposed to get more PS4's in besides the pre-orders? I was not sure I'd have the cash but thanks to selling stuff, I will have the money for one on the 15th, however, I don't know if I should camp out Walmart or Best Buy or Gamestop in hopes they have some non-pre-orders in stock, so as I'm not wasting my time doing so.
