Sequels Young X-Men Casting Thread

So, Fox is currently considering X-Men: Origins as the title for this film. One would assume that this film will also deal with a young X-men team. If so, who is your dream cast!


I'd assume that Cyclops, Jean, Storm and Beast would be used.. not sure of anyone else since most of the important members were introduced as cameos/students.

Is it too early to have new actors/actresses playing the same characters as in previous films? I suppose if the tone is different it would be okay.

I will have to search for some younger actors to play the roles of my favourite characters

I expect them to be teenagers. Famke and Halle definately don't look like teenagers. They're sophisticated womens.

I'm also wondering. Would they cast a young Storm, or a young Halle Berry?

Good question, and would she have an accent?

I think if they are doing an origin film they should forget what happened in the first three films as they happened afterwards. If they want Storm to be done better then give her an accent. Give her more African roots.

Same goes for the other characters. Do them right, even if they are different to what we have seen.

I feel the same. An origin to the movieverse is very limited. Cyclops, Jean, Storm and Beast are the only characters you can work with, unless you add a lesser known character that the public doesn't know of. Iceman, Angel, Kitty, Colossus, and Rogue can't be used.

yea and i hope they get real teenagers cuz theres nothing that annoys me more then late 20 yr olds playing high schoolers. But then again some teens today are horrible actors.

But what JP said about Storm left me worried. I hope they forget Halle Berry and try to get a more african looking girl, with African accent, and for Gods sake, get the origins for her right. Same for the others.

I'm still not sure how an X-Men with teens would work. The tone has to be very well studied, and the script can't go to the hands of Penns and Kinbergs, or we'll have a crap fest with comedy moments every 30 seconds.

Now I'm afraid. I hope Goyer wants a serious movie.

in all honesty, I hope they just show how magneto and xaiver found and recruited them as teenagers. So hopefully it'll just be cameos. Like that scene with Young Jean Grey.

Although I dont see him as a younger version of James Marsden, I think that Jared Padalecki would make a great young Cyclops...

I mean, watching Supernatural, he is pretty much the Cyclops to Jensen Ackles' Wolverine, except that they are both brothers.

I like Patton for Storm... Hendricks for Jean isn't bad at all... that Olivia girl can pull off the look but she needs the red hair and contacts. Pine is great choice for Cyclops... but he was as old as Marsden if not older when Marsden did X-Men... so if the movie takes place like a year before then these casting choices are great... but if they are going the student route then we need teenagers...
