Are you kidding me Zeeny? That team's like the most ******ed thing I've ever seen, in print, or on paper, or in a drug addict's womb. Rachel Summers? I don't even understand her backstory. Hank Pym? More like Spank Wym...en. Who is Sunfire? I don't even know. Nice costume, *****e bag. Colossus? Yeah, and everyone complains about Wolverine being on too many teams. On the plus side, Colossus could Fastball Special Pym into Sunfire, killing them both.
sunfire is a mutant from japan with heat powers simular in nature to firestar:ninja:

Actually that's a pretty cool roster idea.
Spiderman,
Justice,
Firestar
Iceman

... yeah that sits fairly nicely to me. Of course it could never be a longstanding roster. It'd be cool for an arc or two but there can never be any longstanding roster that isnt the original 4.

thanks glad you liked it:ninja:

I feel so proud,...

The guy I intro'd comics via this Story has gotten a job in a comic store,... and reads comics.

I remember that. I love how Reed keeps dysphemizing each statement about himself on the first page. The folly of the FF's first flight still haunts him even after all the good the FF have done. Poor bastard. :(

Yeah, awesome scene.

This is such a powerful scene that All FF Fans should use it as a benchmark on the Fantastic four to go by.

The FF have always started with "Family" And this Glimpse into Pre Civil-War Reed Underlines his motivations.

MEH,... Silly I know,.. But I can read this and my face burns, my eyes tear, and I think things like "You go Boy."

The time before this was the first death of the Phoenix,

The BP / IF fight,

The SM / FL and SM / Hulk fights,

The entire Electra Arc including what Daredevil did to Bulleye,

The Entire Armor Wars Arc,

The death of Gwen Stacy,

but NONE of them can pull up the feeling everytime I read it.

I take it back,... The Death of MockingBird and the effect on Clint Barton is the closest for me.

The great thing about this?
This issue had Ben, Sue, And Jonny feeling bad FOR REED because they thought he had not been invited to Cause Cerebal - what I would call the equiv for reed as the Biggest comic/tech convention of the year - and you find out on these pages that reed turned it down TO BE WITH THEM.

(Why does this hit me so hard?)

R.I.P. Ringo (the best Ringo of any creative team, if you catch my drift Beatles-maniacs ;) )

Probably because it's a far more human side of Reed than any writers have shown since Civil War.

truth.

Oh,... they had that thing where Reed discovers the possibility of humans destroying themselves,..

or during Civil war where he pisses sue off,...

But you are right, it's been a while since they showed this side.

Sigh,..

You notice I'm saying much about Ringo,... his passing still bothers me.

The guy starts with the FF,... then Spins off almost entirely into independent titles.

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT???

I'm really happy to recruit a new comic reader from the unwashed masses,.. he's burning cash on graphic novels playing catch up on all FF titles but he's also reading Batman, Checkmate, and JSA? why does he need to jump hip deep into Vertigo, Bone, and Y the last man too?

I love how Reed is absolutely convinced that Ben, Sue, and yes even Johnny are, "three of the best and bravest people anyone could hope to meet". He is absolutely sure of how good these people are.

What a selfless way of thinking. Here is the brightest mind in the 616. The greatest renaissance man ever and he thinks so highly of these three.

This is the true ego of Mr. Fantastic.

Because he wants to read awesome stoires?

I just got the first hardcover collection of the Waid/Wieringo run. I really can't wait to read it now.

Independant titles offer a complete story?

Have their own easy to access continuity?

To be honest i'm amazed someone new to comics reads any DCU beyond batman or superman.

well,.. I'm just saying:

He asked,.. and I told him about all that was mentioned here and more,... but when he asked me where to start,.. I said "read Superman/Batman, BOP,JLA, Thor, FF, BP and maybe check out Punisher/Spiderman/Checkmate?"

And he dived off into independant stuff I mentioned as "good" only in passing.

Heck,... I've never read transmetropolitan for example,... but said Others have told me it was worth reading. That was enough for him.
