Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf

1. 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
2. 1 large onion, diced
3. 1/2 pound Mushrooms, finely chopped
4. 3 Large cloves garlic, minced
5. 1 cup Heavy Cream
6. 1 1/2 teaspoons Minced fresh oregano
7. 1 1/2 teaspoons Minced fresh thyme
8. 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
9. 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
10. 1 pound Lean ground pork
11. 1 pound Lean ground beef
12. 1 pound Ground veal
13. 1 Egg, lightly beaten
14. 3/4 pound Sliced bacon

Too bad you can't order it from a drive-thru like you can with Wendy's Baconator. :oldrazz:

Lean, baked meatloaf with the excess fat drained off into a catch pan underneath can be excellent and healthy for dinner. Wrapping it in bacon, not so much. Fatties.

I guess it's that one cup of heavy cream that gives it that extra tang.
 
That meatloaf looks raw as frick! And too many types of meat; beef, pork, and veal? Jeez
 
Bacon on Meatloaf? That's been around for decades; that's nothing new or special.

And it's quite delicious.

Seconded. There's a local Italian joint here, sells a calzone jammed with ham, sausage, beef and pepperoni...it's marvelous :wow:
