When I was still in Yu-Gi-Oh, my deck mostly had Dark and Light types, with an occasional Earth type, and of course, Divine type (I had Obelisk the Tormentor and Slyfer the Sky Dragon :)).

I still have my Deck, my bro still plays the game so I keep up to date with stuff. I played a "Classic fiend" deck with monsters like Dark Ruler Ha Des, Dark Necrofear and Invader of Darkness. I get dusted with the newer cards like Cyber Dragon and stuff but its cool. I'm one of the originals.

Recently my bro decided to hand off some Earth Warriors he didn't need: Mystic Swordsman LVs 2,4 and (very cool set) and a couple of "Six Samurai" cards. I might just get around to building a deck around these cards.

My bro plays an incomplete Armed Dragon deck (he's missing LV 10) but he still plays his cards right.

There used to a time where dark mixed light decks ruled all. But now, most people don't run decks based around an element. I don't see why you would.

Chaos Decks are based around mixed Dark and Light decks. Newer decks like Cyber Dragons are also based a little around the Light Element. I prefer building decks along Monster Types myself.

Chaos decks were dark mixed light decks.

Chaos Decks were pretty cheap too. Fiend for life. Th newest Fiend type feels a little lame to me though: "Darkworld". Any deck that circles around discarding seems a little dangerous

So no reliable reanimater archtype available?

Don't get me wrong, Dakworld relies on a lot of daring play, Imagine using Broww to summon Wu-Gold in 1 turn but cards like Disappear and Big Burn can easily screw a guy's game.

With the Classic Fiend approach, its a healthy Beatdown-Effect combo, and with some of the stronger Fiends unresurrectable like Dark Ruler, Helpoemer and Necrofear being unabled to be summoned from the Graveyard (yet) so you can eliminate the fear of having your opponent use your own monster against you. One of the reasons I dropped Premature Burial and Call of the Haunted from Fiend Deck.

I like the new Alien cards though. Very interesting style of play. Not tournament caliber stuff but cool and fun.
