because A. the pokemon would look ridiculous in live action unless they made them look sometwhat realistic like those devientart pics i've seen floating around, and if that route is taken, all people are going to see are two animals fighting at the behest of humans. its different in the anime because its stylized, but we're getting off track, this is a yu gi oh thread after all. like i said earlier, i think this could work, you would just need to cgi yugi's hair lol.

How could this work?
If they based the story around the early stories of the Manga with the shadow games, the early stories kinda reminded me of japanese horror, a film with the yami yugi out of control like with the 1st 5 volumes would be a magic version of Saw.

I think it's an interesting idea that would need a serious overhaul to work as a real movie that wasnt just fanwank.
I contemplated how that could actually happen, once. Fans would have been pissed (the importance of the cards to the plot was seriously toned down), but I thought it would have made a fun movie.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! (遊☆戯☆王, Yūgiō?) manga ran from 1996 to March 8, 2004. It was created by Kazuki Takahashi, and was one of the most popular titles featured in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. The manga initially focuses on Yugi Mutou, as he uses games designed by Pegasus to fight various villains. Yugi also gets into misadventures with his friends Katsuya Jonouchi, Anzu Mazaki and Hiroto Honda. The plot starts out fairly episodic and includes only three instances of Magic and Wizards in the first seven volumes.

The film should base around the first volumes, but if the film was american you couldn't expect an american boy to be caled yugi

As much as I loved Yu Gi Oh I don't think I. Want to see a Live Action Version...id would be cool to see the cards come to life and all that but I think it would become extremly repetetive....they would have to compact a lot of story some of which should be essential
