    Happy Halloween, Guest!

Legendary Teams with Dwayne Johnson on Skyscraper Movie

Considering the director... I wouldn't be surprised if it was a comedy all along.

This really does just look so, so ****ty. :oldrazz:

Eh, probably see it anyway out of curiosity. I do love how it's just so shamelessly "millennial Die Hard", like this is literally what Die Hard would be if it were made now with one of these modern directors and the wimpy glossy feel and CG sheen.

"PG-13 iisss for p*ssssiiieeeeess...." sings Stallone in that goofy Expandables musical song. Bwaha.

Oh well. Dwayne's cool, whatever.

Bruce Willis for the most part looked like an ordinary guy. He could put up a fight but didn’t look superhuman. That and Alan Rickman is what made Die Hard amazing.

Rock does not look like your every day normal guy, and I’m sure the villain is nothing to write home about.

The prosthetic leg was probably supposed to make him ordinary, like Mark Wahlberg's police officer returning from an injury in Patriots Day but only serves to make him super powered

My first thought about the leg was that "Good lord, now when the Rock promises to break his foot off in someone's ass, he means it."

Yeah, it’s weird when he or Arnold try to play just a “regular joe”. They’re better off playing the super cop or a Terminator or a video game character.

Like Black Adam is perfect for him. Not everyday family man that no one can identity with because nobody looks like The Rock.

The prosthetic leg thing's actually a cool little tidbit about this, have no problem with that at all.

It's just the "bigger-is-better" shiney digital cluster**** of the rest of the movie that's gonna be the problem. It's no more guilty of it than any other action movie out these days, but it still looks & feels ridiculous.

Before walking into “Skyscraper” one must master the art of being brain dead. This is a movie that wants you to valet park your brain at door and make sure it’s not turned on for the entire duration of the film. You saw the trailer. You saw the poster. You knew what you were getting into. You better suspend your disbelief or the movie will forcibly suspend it for you.

Though it is brainless, ‘Skyscraper’ lacks both the fun and the Dwayne Johnson charm audiences expect to see.

I'll check this out- I hope it does well-- though I'm not sure what the sequel would be if this is Rock's "Die Hard" franchise.

If Rampage couldn’t get over 100M in NA, I can’t see this doing it.

There's something about this that has me expecting a really fun movie. Nothing amazing but on the level of True Lies, Cliffhanger, or Demolition Man.

Those were fun great movies. This movie looks nowhere close.

I’m expecting just dumb fun action, so if it gives me that I’m good. Love The Rock and I enjoyed Jumanji and San Andreas. Not a fan of his earlier comedy films though or some others. Haven’t seen any of his newer comedies though.

Eh, I don't know, Cliffhanger in particular isn't a high bar even if I watched the heck out of it as a kid.

Terorrists will seize control of the first ever skyscraper built in space and only the Rock, who now sports two bionic legs with built-in rocket boosters, can stop them.

Haha I actually want a trailer to this done Tropic Thunder style.

Whoa my friend! True Lies and Cliffhanger are on another level to Demo Man.

Demolition Man is on the same level, man look it up! It's in the Schwarzenegger Presidential Library.

I love True Lies and Cliffhanger but Demolition Man took stupid to a whole new level. It’s like Judge Dredd if it was set in Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood or something.

Nah. True Lies and Cliffhanger are both pretty silly. I love them through.
It's like the two of you are trying to wound me! :funny: Cliffhanger is probably the best Die Hard riff movie ever with glorious stunt work and a breathtaking location and memorable villain, and True Lies is one of the best action movies ever with some amazing set pieces. Demolition Man is a cheap looking B movie with mediocre action, corny acting and a script with more on the nose jokes than a pun convention!

Hunter, my friend, you sound like a man who don't know how to use the three seashells.
