šŸ€ NBA: Letā€™s Get Hoopā€™d

Heard about this last night. This could be very good or not so good for GS. I suspect the former, but you never know about Butler. For the Heat, it had to be done and they came out of this just fine.

I love it personally. lol. Even though I am an AD fan, he is just too unreliable to be the cornerstone of a franchise.

I am a little disappointed that we gave up Dalton Knecht but Williams has tons of potential
Holy S***. I just woke up to the trade with the Hornets. Williams fills a much bigger need. Reaves and Knecht play a similar role with Knecht having the bigger upside, knowing what you have in Reaves, and Reaves having a more complete game. While the Lakers gave up a lot, IMO, this was a great trade for them and makes them a much more complete team. Williams is also young.....while Dalton is a rookie, Williams is almost a year younger.

The Lakers just got really, REALLY interesting. I wonder what Vegas is saying about this......

I made sure to watch the Warrior/Laker game tonight because I wanted to see how both teams did shorthanded. It was a weird game where LA jumped out and GS put together a pretty decent 2nd half. What I found really odd was how the announcers kept talking about how GS was so shorthanded......

Uh, dudes......LA was playing without AD, Knecht, Max Christie, and Reddish.....not to mention the 2 big pieces they got in the trades (Luka and Williams). That essentially put the Lakers out of 4 players in their rotation with nothing to replace them.....and the Warriors were shorthanded??? I mean, yeah, they were, but no more so than LA.....not having Wiggins, Schroeder and, to a much, much lesser extent, Waters and Anderson hurts, but all of them together probably don't add up to AD.

On the upside, tell me who you'd rather have going forward.....Doncic and Williams or Jimmy Butler?

The new look Lakers "may" not mesh, but GS isn't going anywhere.

Iā€™d say that the Lakers and the Spurs won the trade deadline big time.
Yeah......I think that's right. SA getting Fox and not giving up their young talent should be cause for an arrest warrant to be issued (although, to be fair, there was quite a bit of that going around). The Cavs didn't need that much, but getting Hunter was a good move. He's playing well this year and has a big upside.

In addition, the Spurs still have their draft pick (which will likely drop) and the Wizards' pick. They look very strong going forward so I'm guessing Pop ain't going anywhere anytime soon and will be around to entertain/annoy us for the foreseeable future.

I just saw that the Mark Williams trade was rescinded. The speculation is that Williamsā€™ injuries are worse than were reported.

Sucks too because we canā€™t trade for another big man. I was hoping weā€™d go for Vucevic from Chicago.

Maybe Rob P. makes some calls to Dwight Howard and Boogie Cousins?

Yeah.....just saw that one too. It looks like Hayes just went from a very serviceable backup to starter. With this trade deep sixed, any hope of a good playoff run is, I think, off the table. However, I was shocked as hell to see them beat the Pacers without LeBron even in the lineup. Reaves just went OFF. As of right now, I think they'll have to settle for a body in the middle.

Life goes up and life goes down......

Christmas arrived early for all my teams. Now we need to pursue Jimmy Butler in free agency!

Oh boy.......Hornets are looking to overturn the rescinded trade. Freaking Soap Operas can't top this. :funny:

I could see them getting rid of Chris Paul and basically shutting it down for the rest of the season.

it's possible, but Castle has a ton of upside and could only benefit from his wisdom. i assume that Fox and he are the plan going forward, but i'm not sure they'll be able to ship Paul right now?

Yeah. For sure thereā€™s an argument to be made either way. One thing is for sure, San Antonio is poised to be really tough for the next several years. They are young and getting really, really good. Plus, theyā€™ve got some great draft capital. They could conceivably end up with two lottery picks this year.

Man, the difference between the five and number two spot in the NBA west is 1.5 games. The Lakers are only one game out of the two seed. That just seems crazy, but the Lakers have a very, very tough schedule the rest of the year. Theyā€™re playing really well, but if they lose Austin Reaves, thatā€™s a huge loss.
