🏀 NBA: Let’s Get Hoop’d

Wow.....hadn't heard that and I live in LA. It's probably just as well. After Dr. Buss passed, the team wasn't run quite as well. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad ownership and Jeanie Buss is a very bright and capable woman, but her father had this game dialed. Maybe new blood is needed. $10 bills.....yikes......

As someone who could care less about either team, I see the refs letting all the players get away with a lot. I saw several instances of someone getting hit pretty hard while going to the hoop and no foul being called. Some of them even resulted in turnovers. The grabbing they seem to be calling, but there's a awful lot of upper body contact that's throwing people off while shooting that the refs are silent on. Maybe that's just playoff hoops........

i wish it was all-season hoops

SGA has such a beautiful game. An amazing scorer and even better passer. He also is a strong defender.

Congrats to the Thunder

But you have to wonder... with the way Hali started the game (with 3 3s in 6 minutes, he was on pace to score 40 points), what would have been if Hali didn't tore his achilles after that?

the Pacers legit could beat this OKC team on their home floor, but after Hali was out, i feel the writing is on the wall for the Pacers, yes they can hang on a little bit in the 1st half but without their shot creator, it was an uphill battle to climb on (no one on Indiana can make a basket in the 2nd half, at one point it was just TJ McConell singlehandedly gave them a chance)..
What a shame and for me...a little bit anticlimax because up until the injury, this might go down as one of memorable and best Finals (and memorable playoffs also)

Absolutely a heartbreaking end for the amazing and incredible run by Indiana, but they should held their head high, they singlehandedly made this year's playoff so entertaining, and also they are the 4th seed in the East but went into a grueling 7 game series against the 68 win best team in the NBA. (This proves more than anything else that the notion of "the East is weaker than the West" is just a myth).

Prayers up to Hali.
It is just crazy and not normal that in one playoffs, 3 superstars tore their achilles (first Dame, then JT, and now Hali)...and they all use the same number 0 (crazy coincidences, isnt it?)

I guess he's out for next season, too. :(

It is tough to watch his reaction after he went down 😔😔
I really feel for him...the biggest game of his career and he tore his achilles...just devastating.

Yeah...same with JT, i think he will miss the entire next season, too...
This makes the East will be wide open...the Cavs and the Knicks will be back and improve, the Pistons and the Magic will grow, the Sixers with healthy Embiid, PG, Maxey and McCain, hopefully the Bucks with Giannis back and good proper supporting players to help him, while the Celtics and the Pacers I suspect will re-group before JT and Hali comes back in 2027...and the Heat? With their failure to secure KD (again!), they will be a play in team again lol.
For the West, its OKC's conference now, I believe...

I just saw the news..
It is crazy for the Rockets to trade Jalen Green, literally their future for the 36 (soon to be 37 yrs old) KD.
While his college rival, Cade Cunningham is thriving into a superstar in Detroit, Green already got traded in his 4th year.

Rockets must be desperate lol
At least they also shipped Dillon Brooks (it is hard to root for any team that he's been on, lol)

Yeah......when I saw him go down, the first thing I saw was Tatum. The healing time depends on the injury. It's probably a ruptured tendon, but if it's the connection between the calf muscle and tendon, the healing time is relatively fast......I know this because I had the latter injjury last August and was okay within about 5 months. Tendons don't heal as quickly as muscles because they don't have the same level of blood supply and respond differently to stress, but the tendon muscle connection heals quite quickly.

That being said, he's probably out for next year. It's a Fing shame.

One of the Celtics championship core just got traded.

A good pick for the Celtics here...they replace their aging PG for much younger player.
Simons is just 25 who averaged 20 ppgs last season and the Cs also got their 2 picks back.

The off-season has begun!

Next one for Brad Stevens is trading KP, I believe...hope the Cs get a valuable return for him, too.

And if the rumor is true that the Spurs are being interested in trading for Jaylen Brown for Stephon Castle, Devin Cassell, Keldon Johnson and a pick...if I was Brad Stevens, I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. Castle is one of promising young star right now, him and JT (when he returns) would make a formidable wings.

Also... it would be huge if the Lakers really landed Bam.

Because I think the main reason the Lakers lost to the Wolves in the first round was because they dont have a legit big man after AD got traded.
I mean...Rudy Gobert, of all people is the one killing them lol (he was abusing the Lakers in the paint area all series)
So, it would be huge if the Lakers get Bam...but I think that means they have to give up Austin Reaves and maybe Rui Hachimura.

If the Spurs were to make that trade, I think they'd be idiots, but, sure, the Celts would be all over that deal. They're gonna have a down year in 2026 if I'm reading things right, but who knows? Tatum is gone for most of the year and who knows if he'll get back to what he was and, if so, when.

If I'm the Spurs, I grab Harper with #2 and then find someone who can play PF/C and has defensive skills with their other 1st rounder. They have so many low priced, good looking young assets that I'm keeping those guys and see if one or two of them develop into something special. Don't be the Clippers.

In case anyone is wondering, I can't stand the Spurs, but I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

I want to add that the one most important thing from this trade is that the Celtics now gets a scorer, so Anfernee Simons will help bridge the scoring while JT is out.

Add to that Simons is also a very good 3P shooter, so I think he will fit right in with Joe Mazulla's 3P focused offense system.

You are right...the Spurs have the most promising and valuable young assets in the NBA right now, they better not rush their window by trading all of their assets for instant "win now mode".

Speaking of, I wonder how the GM and owner of the Clippers feel right now seeing how SGA has became now, and all the picks they gave to OKC, one of them ended up being Jalen Williams.
This is surely the biggest fumble of all time, haha

Well, after all, it IS the Clippers, but I don't think I've ever seen a worse trade than the Warriors made to get Joe Barry Carroll. The Celts got Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish. LOL

Altough the Lakers getting Jabbar for Bridgeman, Meyers, Elmore Smith, and Winters worked out pretty well for the Lakers. Those 4 guys weren't bad players, but........

This one ranks right up there though.... :funny:

As for the Spurs, they can pick up some pieces they need via free agency and the draft. Right now, they need a solid backup for Wemby who can play PF and some perimeter shooting. No need to drain what you've built up (through good luck in the lottery, but, hey, if you're the Spurs, you take it).
