So Linux journey update. Fedora's RPM packaging wasn't cutting it anymore. Switched to Ubuntu and pretty much uninstalled the Snap Store and replaced it with GNOME Software. Enabled Flatpaks and downloaded the Debian packages for Firefox and Chromium so they can actually talk to the system instead of being sandboxed. Everything works like I want it.

So funny story. Microsoft released Edge for Linux and it's pretty identical to the Windows version. There's a Copilot button, but it doesn't do anything. Turns out Microsoft forgot to package the HubApps files for Copilot and the Edge sidebar into the Linux version, so it doesn't do anything.

Surprised Canonical hasn't implemented Blur My Shell in Ubuntu. They could just call it Ubuntu Shell.

well guys I finally replaced my trusty old Acer Windows 10 laptop after 9 years of loyal service, I got a new ASUS Tuf gaming laptop with 16gb mem (up gradable to 64) 512gb SSD (it supports the same PCIe upgrade as a PS5 it has 2 slots so I can add a LOT more storage) AMD 7700 video card, 16" screen and the one feature I really wish my old one has, light up keys so I can use it in the daytime when I have my thick curtains closed. I so far just turned it on to get all the updates and I love it so far way WAY quieter than the old Acer. I am gonna back up all my media files to an external and gonna wipe it and factory reset and gonna give it to my brother to give to his 9 year old for her to use, it's older but for her its nice plus it has a touch screen monitor.

I really feel bad for the Skype users, especially the ones with numbers. I had hoped Microsoft would sell Skype rather than shutter it.

only had this thing for a week and I love it, the only con is that it has a 512gb internal SSD but the big pro is it supports the same time of PCIe SSD modules that the PS5 takes and it can take up to 2 TB so I plan on getting a 2TB module in the future and install it in this thing, also it has 16gb of memory it can go up to 64 so I will probably expand the memory along with that storage. and it is VERY fast to boot up like less than 20 seconds from hitting power to being at the desktop with icons wow!

Every time I look into Windows to see maybe they're listening to consumers, I see that Recall is still being forced onto your PC and they're pushing Edge and Bing over everything else unless you live in the EU.
