🖥️ General PC Discussion

Awesome, sounds like it is about time!
Definitely! It's just a great feeling looking up parts again. Already ordered the absolute beast of gaming CPUs with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I should order the remaining stuff in the following days and hopefully build the rig this weekend.

My final build... Just under $3500 CAD. I'm going with only 1TB SSD for now and will buy a 2TB SSD just for games later this year during Black Friday or Boxing Day. I would have preferred a Samsung SSD instead of WD, but Samsung Canada's support is apparently ****ing terrible when it comes to their storage products like SSDs/HDDs...

I also wish I could get a Noctua CPU cooler and case fans, but oh boy, are they ****ing overpriced... I've had nothing but Noctua fans/coolers in the past. Thermalright seems to be great value/performance (and they do seem to be Noctua knoc-offs :funny:). I will try that 5-fan pack and if they're too noisy, I'll get some Be Quiet! ones or just settle for the good old Noctua fans.

I will re-use the HDDs of my current PC for this one.

**** Windows. Administrator accounts being replaced by "Trusted" accounts with less permissions for OS security, using voice commands as primary interaction with PC, Copilot having full access to your screen at all times for better contextual answers... What are they doing over there at Redmond?
