Then you're very naughty. Dinosaurs are reptiles, a specific group. :word:

The general phrase is prehistoric animals. That includes dinosaurs and everything else!

I am going to pretend I already knew this and that my school taught me this in 4th grade :O:up:

We don't need Gibson and his bitter agendas. He'd have the mammoths stamping all over Jews and gays and he'd rewrite history so the cradle of civilisation wasn't the Middle East. Passion of the Christ was bad enough for making the Romans into the good guys.

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

LOL. When in the hell did that movie show the Romans as the good guys.

Don't talk **** about a movie you haven't seen. From all the constant Gibson bashing your letting out I highly doubt you bothered to watch the film.

Of course i saw it. I actually bought the DVD - and immediately sold it. And of course it made the Romans the good guys.
They were the sympathetic ones in the story, because Gibson wanted Roman Catholicism to be better than Judaism. Have you even seen Passion of the Christ? Your ignorance is terrifying. Gibson's a bigot, don't you watch the news?

Yes I did see it. "My ignorance is terrifying??" Whatever.

I believe it was the romans who were flogging Jesus, mocking him and nailing him to the cross. I don't see how you would think of them as sympathetic unless you were a sick f***.

I'm not going to derail a thread on 10,000BC but the negative reactions against this movie are well-known. You clearly have your head either in the sand or up your own arse. Read the wikipedia article on the movie reactions to the movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion_of_the_Christ#Critical_perceptions

That aside, Gibson's own bigotry is well documented. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel_Gibson#Controversy

He is clearly the one who is, as you delightfully put it, a sick f***.

I'm guessing you don't believe the Holocaust took place either. Yay, here's another one folks! :whatever:

Where in the flying F*** do you get off assuming like a ****** that I don't think the Holocaust happened???

Grow up. Just because someone doesn't share your opinion doesn't mean you have to talk down to them and **** on them.

If you meant Romans as in ROMAN CATHOLICS IE: followers of Christ and the bible that would have made more sense. I took it at face value as the Romans of that time, NOT Roman CATHOLICS but just Romans.

I know about all the talk of how the movie was supposedly anti-semitic and whatnot. I'm not in Gibson's head so I can't say for sure if his purposefull intent was to shove it in the face of the jews that in the past they condemned a man to death or if he was trying to just glorify the man he believed in as his lord/god.

I did indeed mean Roman Catholics.

I'm not Jewish but even i felt a strange agenda being forced at me in the movie. That would remain just a strange uncomfortable feeling and nothing else - if it were not for the general reaction and then Gibson's subsequent very revealing outbursts. I believe he has 'issues' and I feel uncomfortable about him using his wealth to make movies that force those issues on people.

I don't really care about anything else you're saying. But I have to point out that I f***ing hated Beowulf. It butchered the poem.

There's also a difference between a fictitious poem about monsters and dragons, and a movie claiming to be based in historic fact.

Also, you can claim all you want that we don't know cavemen couldn't talk. But you also have no proof that they could.

Since homosapians have been around for about 250,000 years, it's a pretty safe bet that they had some type of vocalization that was more than just grunts.

The only thing I don't like about his movie so far is that they have huge buildings and pyramids. I'm thinking that it will end up having some sci-fi twist to it.

I'm not 'defending' it, but it doesn't seem any more ridiculous than 300 (goat-headed musician anyone?). It's probably a stylised fantasy adventure, not a historical documentary on the Discovery channel. If it's marketed as accurate history, then it's worth attacking. But how is it marketed?

I think you are overreacting.

Again, why do you assume I like these things? Beowulf was awful as was 300.

How is he forcing those issues on poeple. No one is forcing you to go see his movies. Every director and writer pushes their "issues" in their movies. We don't live in a totalitarian government where artists aren't allowed to be creative and have no freedom of speech.

Personally I think Gibson is a brillant director. From Braveheart to Apoclapyto. Passion was not a favorite of mine, but its probably the most faithful movie version of Christ...IMO

This X-maniac is more ignorant than Mel Gibson.

How so, Mr Blackbolt? The reaction against his movies is obvious and well-documented and his bigoted outbursts are well-documented. You obviously conveniently forget all the things he has said. I'd hope for something more accurate in a Christ movie, not agenda-driven. Shame on you. Please come out from that fog of ignorance.

Again...you keep "assumming" things about people. I certainly know about the reactions of the film and his outburst...I for one don't care about them.
Mel has the right to make any film he wants. That's what makes him a great director. He doesn't care what people think. He's daring enough to take a challenge. Not a cookie cutter type movie. In fact if you did some more research you'd find out Mel invited some Jewish leaders to see the film and some of them didn't find any thing anti-Jewish about it. Most of that "outburst" came from people before the movie was even released.

Seeing the movie myself, I don't even see anything anti-jewish about the movie. if anything it was anti-Roman. The romans were the most horrible in the whole movie. they were disgusting. having joy at torturing people. The Jewish reactions in the movie was probably what happened in real life. Cause they don't believe Christ was the last prophet. Of course they would not support him within the context of the movie. For me it was more realism

Cavemen that speak better english than some people in the year 2008, with perfectly groomed goatees. Not to mention the cavewomen that look like swimsuit models with no bushy eyebrows or armpit hair (and pearly white teeth).

I'm sorry, but this is more science fiction than frickin Star Wars.

And they have dredlocks that aren't nappy? I know they didn't have combs back then.

I will only watch this movie for the Sabertooth tiger (that looks awesome) and other special effects.

Come quite a way from the CGI Flintstones Baby Puss cat. :o

I notice in the trailer that the one he encounters only observes him, and then leaps away. I'm hoping for a sabretooth/cro-magnon tag team during the film.

I don't think so, I thought the trailer was cool. We'll just have to wait and see how the movie is when it comes out overall.
