It seems that the protagonist, D'leh, saves the Smilodon from drowning in the sPear pit trap during a rain storm which is what we saw at the end of the trailer and thus why it didn't attack him either at that time or, it would appear in the later scene where he's tied up and practically being fed to it.

Kind of corny and unrealistic but it harkens back to so many great legends.

I just got confirmation on the tickets. I will be seeing it tonight :word:

Cool, tell us what you think when you get back.

I think this movies gonna be great, i LOVED the day after tomorrow and im sure if he keeps up to par with that movie, than this movie will be great.

i looks very interesting and the cgi visuals look great, cant wait to see it.

Kinda average. But the epic, prophecy full filling stories ain't my favourites :yay:

The CGI looks fine, excepts in a couple of shots that looks horrible (specially the second scene with the Sabretooth)

i must admit when I first heard of this I was looking forward to it but after watching all the trailers and promos...i'm kinda not sure anymore. Yet, I will see it this weekend IF a TDK trailer is attached with it. :o

Rough translation of my original review

Review: Somewhat generic, the plot is extremely simple, about the ascendace of a hero, from a simple hunter, to saviour of the world, with the weight of such responsability. Without many surprises, the plot evolves, more fitting as a tour through the ancient world, but don't expect to learn a lot of history or geography (at least not accurate facts). Good acting, nothing to get hyped about though. Visually beautiful, doesn't hold anything to show the environment of the world back then, tough some CGI shots have some problems (The Sabretooth tiger look pretty fake in his second appearance).
A movie to have a nice time. Good for the family, even though it has some violent scenes.
The Best: Costumes, Makeup. The plot moves fluidly.
The Worst: The confrontation between hero and tyrant in the end has a development suspiciously similar to the one in 300

I thought an Iron Man trailer was going to be attached.

From what I hear it's going to have both most likely. It should have the new TDK trailer though since the film is from Warner Bros.

The only things that Devlin and Emmerich have done that aren't totally lame are Stargate and ID4, although both of those look pretty silly now when you go back and watch them today.

I'm really going to be amazed if 10,000 BC isn't another mindless suck-fest.

I still enjoy Stargate...:csad: ...:woot:

Mainly because I'm a Kurt Russell fan and enjoy the whole idea that aliens could have been the ones that jump started our civilization.

I'm still waiting for a good fictional film on Atlantis.:cwink:

This movie will be number one this weekend, that's already a given. It's the first semi-blockbuster of the year, and I already hear people saying this is the "only good movie" to come out lately.

Devlin isn't involved with 10000 BC at all.

Cool, that will make seeing this on Friday worth it.

That's where my mind is at as well. I only want to see 10,000 BC for whatever possible cool action scenes it might have. Other than that I really think it's going to be a one time watcher.

Hope it proves me wrong.

I was excited when I first heard about it but when I see the trailers I can't help but notice how TERRIBLE this film looks. It looks soooo stupid. I'll watch it if I'm alone in my house, sick with the flu,...on tbs ten years from now. :o

From the reviews I've seen this doesn't seem to be much better than an Uwe Boll-movie
