how was the day after tomorrow "horrifically bad"?

maybe it wasn't your cup of tea, but it was hardly a bad movie. it was watchable, at the least. people here need to learn the difference between horrible (uwe boll movies) bad (paul anderson movies) and decent, but not great (emmerich movies)

there's a fine line, but a line none the less.

so i dont know the whole story but didnt it looked like hte lights from city were turning off?

i think that was like, a metaphor, for going back to a time before electricity and stuff.

The writing in both narrative and dialogue was up there with Catwoman for lack of quality. Sure the effects were decent, but that was it. As for direction, what direction? It was completely uninspiring and pointless.

No emotion from actors, nothing, it was a cheesey and poorly constructed movie with virtually no remotely worthwhile qualities.

What the hell is the point in doing a movie like this if you aren't going to have dinosaurs in it? Seriously, ****.

It's like ice age type stuff...they're basing it more after the dino time.

I know, but really, does ANYONE care about that? The only reason people even think about cavemen is because they make tasty dinosaur food. And since we all know this will be full of impossible and epic action feats, it might as well be against dinosaurs instead of against cats. So lame.

I don't know. Conceptually it could be very cool, with cavemen dealing with sabretooth tigers, woolly mammoths and the other creatures of that time. Since it's Emmerich, though, I'm pretty sure it will be big on visuals and short on script or plot.

Directed By
Roland Emmerich (Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, Day After Tomorrow)

Starring:
Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Cliff Curtis, Omar Sharif, Tim Barlow, Marco Khan, Reece Ritchie, Mo Zinal, Mona Hammond, Joel Virgel Vierset, Suri van Sornsen, Joel Fry, Nathanael Baring, Joe Vaz

Plot Summary:
It was a time when man and beast were untamed and the mighty mammoth roamed the earth. A time when ideas and beliefs were born that forever shaped mankind. 10,000 B.C. follows a young hunter (Steven Strait) on his quest to lead an army across a vast desert, battling saber tooth tigers and prehistoric predators as he unearths a lost civilization and attempts to rescue the woman he loves (Camilla Belle) from an evil warlord determined to possess her.

My opinion of Roland Emerich is that he's a relic from the 1990s and Day After Tommorrow painfully prove this, his films end up being all flash with some decent characterizations that never go anywhere. However with that said the trailer has me somewhat exicted for this film since it could be what Apocalypto could of been.

because people never saw dinosaurs back then. they died off before. teaser peaked my interest.

It's Emmerich, so I'm not going to even watch the teaser, because I know it will be waste of time for me (I've already given him a chance).

Dude it's ****in Emerich it's a little late in his career to start adhering to any type of logic

Look, I want to see a caveman/cavewoman fight/outrun a sabretooth tiger dammit. And that's what I'm going to get.

I have to say i love the look of that trailer:hyper:

As do I.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have another "B.C." action/adventure March release, looks like it could do well like 300 did.

I saw the trailer with Potter, and it looks pretty good. But will anyone speak in this movie?
