15 reasons why EA is pure evil

Or just stop completely with it. Please do that, please, please, please...

I'd have to agree with that sentiment. Activision has gotten worse as late, especially with their "We're going to exploit this franchise annually..." quote (talking about Call of Duty) Next year I can see COD5 being a 3 star or less game.

I must say, EA is starting to turn their tide with original IPs like Deep Space and Army of Two, while building up their existing franchises like Tiberium. I have a bit more faith in System Shock 3 if they haven't completely abandoned it again.

They fortunately aren't the cash-in company they used to be, with neverending movie licenses and hip-hop.

EA is getting better, Activision is getting worst, even more with the merge with Vivendi.
Today, i´m not positive, but Actision Blizzard is a bit bigger than Electronic Arts and still has a bit more quality.
It´s true that there are a lot of Tony Hawk's and making CoD an annual thing is just fu**ing stupid.
Hope that changes...

Activision just needs more IP. They've got RAGE in development over at id and of course Wolfenstein at Raven.

Back in the early nineties, Activision had so many shooters. Now that shooters are huge, they should be getting Hexen, Heretic and all those other shooters out the door.

Then they just have all their crappy movie-games like Kung-Fu Panda and Bee Movie. :(

Coooooooooooooooooorpuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeent!

And don't get me started on that whole idiotic situation with them blocking people from using Guitar Hero 3 controllers with Rock Band because they want a payoff, consistently referring to their stupid plastic guitars as their "patented technology" as if they're somehow better than the Rock Band controllers.

Or if you payed any attention in a college level business course.
I still go with the Lex Luthor angle :o

The main and only important thing is, or should be, the consumer, and by that means, the quality of the product.
Not only EA, but every company out there.
So, milking IPs to dead and destroy perfectly good developers are a big NO in my book.
Now, business wise might not be the best angle, but that is because companies only care for the profit and not for what they sell.

What, like Tony hawk and CoD?

I never said that Activision isn´t going to way too, which is a shame, more even when now, with the merge with Vivendi, they are bigger than EA.

EA is changing from that, i said it before, and i hope Activision stops in time.
But Activision isn´t what EA was (yet), never closed companies because of one bad game and all that, at least, never heard any complain.

But you made a thread titled "15 reasons why EA is evil". Why not, then, "15 reasons why big video game publishers are evil" instead, seeing as Activision is bad as well. Ganging up on EA is old and tired, now that everyone knows they are trying to change.
