A visually stunning Odyssee where nothing is as it seems. The makers of the internationally acclaimed series “Dark”, take us to the year "1899" aboard the Kerberos. What is lost will be found.

Definitely caught me interest.

Netflix jumping on the Volume tech, I see. We will see how they handle it compared to LFL.

This looks really cool. The visuals are pretty great.

I figured the boat was going to be more of a "pirate ship" sized boat... not the damn pre-Titanic. I'm going to go in as blind as I can with this series; Dark was one of the best shows I've seen ever.

Agreed. Dark was incredible. I'll be there for anything those guys cook up.

Trailer was nothing special, but so was the first trailer of Dark…and what a show Dark was…
There won’t probably be anything, that could be compared to it.
Gosh I need a rerun now

I've tried repeatedly to get into Dark, and still can't get through season 1. But I'm looking forward to this.

Did anyone play the game Dark Pictures: Man of Medan?
I get really strong feelings from this.

The trailer showed way too much for my own taste.

Series drops tomorrow

Just starting the first episode and my first thought is the opening credits look to be using very similar FX to the opening credits of Arcane.

This show is exceptional. Eerie and dark atmoshpere, great production design, soundtrack and a bit of mindf*ckery thrown.

But then I expected nothing less from the creators of Dark.

After the incredible opening credits sequences to DARK, this is my only nitpicky disappointment so far with 1899. The sequence isn't bad in and of itself but yes it looks a lot like Arcane and doesn't feel like a fit with this show.

The show itself, though, is blowing me away in the first episode. The detail, the characters, the aesthetic. Rich.

One more to add to my already long list, :p

This was everything I wanted it to be and then some. For the first half of it I wasn't sure if they were going to be able to live up to the bat**** insanity of Dark, but that second half proved me wrong.

Loved it and I hope this team continues doing crazy, ambitious shows like this.

About halfway through and it's very difficult not to binge this show. I kind of wanted to savor it more... but, whatever, I'm sure it will be good for rewatches, lol.

3 episodes in and really liking it.

Weird how Netflix is feast or famine. Weeks of nothing I found particularly interesting, the Warrior Nun, Inside Job and 1899 all in the same week.:yay:

Only 3 episodes in and it's been fantastic so far,
also there is something very 'Westworldy' about this show ?

I was thinking more Identity, where this is all taking place at a psych ward. But I've only watched 2 so far so I don't really know. It's definitely one of those, its not what you think it is, kind of things.

Still enjoying it, but I have 1 nagging question, was this filmed in English or a different language?

It's hard to tell if the sound is just a fraction out of sync or if it is another language, but the words definitely don't match the lip movements for several characters, although for some characters they do seem to match (like Emily Beecham)

All the written material we see is in English, but the cast is very international (I recognize one of the actors from the Danish show "The Rain" and the creators are from Switzerland and Germany)
