so im about to go all out n get an ipod but, my brother already has one. and we share out computer, meaning one itunes.

is there a way to have two ipods on one itunes, and if so, how...

any and all advice would be awesome.

thanks

well if you don't want the same music on both ipods you can turn syncing off on one or both of them... or you can set up another windows user account and add different itunes music to your own account and keep autosync.

either way, i don't think there's a problem with having two ipods on one itunes.

It's no problem at all, just turn off autosync if you don't want all the songs your brother has. My sister downloads songs off my iTunes a lot.

thanks for the advice, i was asking around and heard many different things, after going on google, and seeing different sites. i see what i have to do, and i think his ipod is already off the autosync. so it shouldnt be a problem

thanks again

anyone else got good iPod tips?

um, don't drop it?

these only apply to the hard-drive models, but:
  • it's best to play from a playlist or by artist/album instead of shuffling through songs because it's a lot easier on the hard drive
  • partial charges are best; avoid fully emptying the battery and recharging it completely all the time, but you *should* do it like once every few weeks to "reset" the battery;

Is there any programs I could use to get my songs off of my Ipod since I got a new computer and didn't transfer the library? I'm buying a new Ipod so I'd like the songs...

ephPod for Windows; Senuti for Mac

or just set your windows to show hidden folders, and find the music folder on your ipod and copy it to your computer. you won't get any filenames, but all the ID3 tags will be preserved anyway.

I just used Ipod2pc or something like that for mine. It was a pain because it was trial version and could only copy 6 songs at a time.

yeah, that's why I suggest ephPod; it's a bit weird to learn to use, but it's free
