No, I don't think so.
Back on subject, My father's from the Michigan area, and he's a Detroit fan. Last year's game 7 wasn't so good for him. If you're right, he'll have a happy season. Detroit w/ a ring. The way they're playing right now, they want the homecourt advantage.

Yea..maybe

Redwings are gonna win too, i'm more excited about them since i had 2 years of pistons playoffs

I hate how no media gives a damn, there still talking about Kobie and Labron...

The only ppl that deserve to be looked at right now besides the pistons are Miami, Shaq and Wade (steel and flash) are a good team. when the pistons reign is over, I expect wade to have a championship or two under his belt

Umm you do know how the media in our country works right? Whatever is flashy, big, bright, outlandish and so on are the head line grabbers. People don't like teams like the Pistons or Spurs because they play good smart basketball. Not flashy loud ball. They just play the game right and win games.

Also talking about people that DESERVE to be looked at, the Spurs have been playing their game long before Detroit re-emerged as a basketball powerhouse. And the Clippers obviously deserve some media attention now that they are out of the sub .500 abyss.

Last year I wasnt a fan of Basketball PERIOD! What Kobe ****ing did to my lakers last year made me sick of him and THE NBA!!! It isnt until now where Im finally starting to get back to my old love "Basketball":)

Okay, so who thinks that Kobe needs to grow the **** up?

i think he should quit, retire, die, what ever

Why??? I know Kobe is an ass like 75% of NBA Players but there's no question Kobe got Game!!!:o

Kobe's more of an ass than most though. That obviously deliberate elbow he threw into that guy's face was just going way too far.

I completly disagree! No would give a shiit if Slavo Medvendko throw an elbom at someone. Kobe is being watched under a microscope ever since his "rape trial" Besides I can name 10 NBA player off the top of my head who are bigger assess than Kobe:o

FYI: Kobe's rape trial was the only highly publicized one, because of who he was.

No one mentioned Jerry Stackhouse's sexual assault case.
Shaq had a case against him that was quieted. Things of this nature are usually covered up in sports, because big business and revenue are on the line.
Kobe's arrogant, and that's annoying, but at least he's talented.
62 in 3 quarters? Are you serious?

of course he gets 62 pts, he doesnt pass, even Odim cant get no love

Jordan used to due that on a daily basis back in his day:o Of course no one remembers it because they won 6 championships.

Odom?? I wouldn't pass if I didn't have an ACCEPTABLE teammate to pass to. I'll agree w/ you when you explain why a person who is 6'10" is uncomfortable posting up on the block. He can take people off of the dribble, but as soon as it's time to post, Here's Lamar w/ another kick-out to beyond the arc. . . . at least there's hope w/ Kwame.

I'm not saying he's a team player, but people always say the same BS about Allen Iverson. If he had a team, he would pass more as well.

If you REALLY just LOVE to watch basketball, then why the hell are you watching the NBA? The NBA is horrible these days. College or International Basketball is where it's at. Even better, highschool. Players at those level play because they love the game and play hard. Sure, some play to sign a contract or go to a big college or to come over here from overseas, but no where near the amount that play in the NBA just to get a paycheck.

Not that there aren't players or teams still left in the NBA that play for the love of it, but how many are there compared to 10 years ago? or even 20? Not many. I would say the Pistons, Spurs are the two obvious choices. Suns and Mavs I would throw in there as well. I am talking as a team, not most of the team or part of the team.

I doubt if many teams today could match up with teams of years past. I just think that players in sports in general played a lot harder than many do today. Take Carmello for example. When he and Lebron came into the league they were pretty much even. Now look where they are, sure Carmello has been to the playoffs, twice and Lebron hasn't once. But tell me who you would rather have on your team?

And who is the better player now? No questions about it, it's lebron. It seems like he has worked each year and off season to improve and make himself better, not for a contract, not for money (since he already is worth $58+ million, after taxes). Just simply to be better and make it to the playoffs.

Now take Carmello, he has improved, yes but the disparity now between Mello and James is far more drastic then ever it has been. My personal opinion, and this is just my opinion. Mello just doesn't really care. Sure he cares, but he obviously doesn't care enough to work hard in the off season like Lebron does, he just seems like your typical gifted player that has reached the point he is at with hard work and is happy with where he is at.

I am sure many of you will attack me and say things such as "How do you know how hard Mello works!" "Do you watch him train?" and so on. My reply is simple, watch him in a game. He just seems like he does what he does, is satisfied with it and gets paid.

Of course Mello isn't the only one and I am not picking on him, I am just using him as an example of how MANY athletes today are a sad comparison of the athletes of yester year.
