Tonight will make 6 in a row ;)

Accoirding to Peter vecsey Aretest will be traded to the Clips for Maggette within the next week :/

that's wild... Artest in LA... he'll be on trial for murder before his contract expires... you can book it.

by the way Lobo.. don't jinx us. :(
Let's take it one game at a time...  :)

NOBODY's a kobe Dyckryda..watch yer mouth luda..i always respected you!....... i really dont like kobe..but he wears the purple and gold armor..so i gotta support him....he cost us more ships..... wasnt all his fault..but hey now i earned the right to boast when we win a GAME..cause i aint gonna have nothing to boast about for a while....

nobodies a bandwagoner here....:down

as far as artest vescey is a knuckelhead dont believe that trade..ITS dead..maggette needs to have season ending surgery... artest is not going to the clips now..thats for sure:( ..i woulda loved to see him in LA too ..frankly he would be dope on the lakes..but the clips woulda been instant contenders... ...guess thats how it goes though

oh and equint.... i really like your guys drafting! ..as soon as you guys get rid of those HIDEOUS contracts yall be straight..channing frye is AMAZING!

Thanks Darth

A lot of Knick fans were complaining about Frye before he got drafted and ever afterwards without giving the guy a chance. Now he's like the second best rookie....and I think he'd probably be top rookie if he started and got 30 minutes a night. I'm sooo proud of Nate for adjusting to Larry Brown and the NBA game. And David Lee is great hustle player. I'm hoping Zeke re-signs Trevor Ariza this summer cause he's also a nice player.

There's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel for us... I'm just happy for the team getting a little bit of success.. they've earned it.

If the Clipper's can adjust to having Artest in the line-up, their team has just become a legitimate Western Conference contender.

yeah dude in the offseason there were whispers we were gettin ariza..i was stoked...he is nice.... with young cats and lb behind the wheel theres always hope....

hopefully the league has a say and we get an LA v NY finals one year!

Oops. Well now, Larry Bird and the Pacer's front office certainly aren't going to trade Artest for dead weight. Other teams are still in contention, unless Vecsey is correct, and the Pacers are planning for next year.

lol.. if that were ever to happen.. David Stern's pants would explode... the media coverage would be ridiculous. :D

I kinda wish both teams were peaking at the same time... Phil Vs. Larry. NY Vs LA. Damn Darth... you're killing me with this cause now I wish it would happen. :D

dude thats been my daydream since larry went to NY and phil came back.... alas it may be only a dream...:(

If NY played LA, the NBA east coast/west coast rivalry that occurred during the Bird/Magic era would happen.

Maybe the games wouldn't be that great, but the hype surrounding them would boost the league.

Imagine this: 7 game series, LA vs NY, title on the line, what else is there to say?

You are talking about in the plyayoffs right? Because no one gives a damn if they play each other during the regular season right now.

a game seven series implies the postseason, the championship actually, since they're in opposite conferences.

haha, and everyone knows how accurate any info from peter vecsey is. and chad ford.

Just making sure, but NY isn't making it anywhere near that far this year, nor is LA

It would also be great to see both L.A. Teams in the playoffs:up:

The much-discussed trade that would send wayward forward Ron Artest from Indiana to Los Angeles for Clippers swingman Corey Maggette, which moved suddenly toward completion this week after initial resistance from L.A., has fizzled.

NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Thursday that the Pacers have abandoned their interest in Maggette because of concerns with his troublesome left foot.

The Clippers, sources said, will have to wait up to a month for the removal of Maggette's cast just to determine if the 26-year-old can be reactivated this season -- or if an ongoing ligament problem will require season-ending surgery that places a screw in Maggette's foot. Indiana, as a result, has elected not to pursue the deal, even though Maggette -- a rugged scorer known for getting to the free-throw line -- had been near the top of its wish list since the Pacers decided last month that they would honor Artest's public request to be traded.

Other interested teams
ESPN.com NBA Insider Chris Sheridan revealed in his Friday afternoon chat that he is hearing that the Rockets are now involved in the Ron Artest Sweepstakes. The Rockets - who don't have anything outside of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady that interests the Pacers - are trying to find a player that Indiana does like. The end result would be a three-or-four-way trade that would bring Artest to Houston.

Denver, Minnesota and the Los Angeles Lakers are also among the clubs to express strong interest in the unpredictable Artest, but sources maintain those teams, like Houston, would need the help of a third or fourth team to assemble a package the Pacers like.
ESPN.com reported Wednesday that the Golden State Warriors, along with the Clippers, were the frontrunners in the Artest sweepstakes, which will soon stretch into a sixth week. The latest Maggette development theoretically enhances Golden State's chances, but the Pacers covet power forward Ike Diogu and the Warriors consider the bruising rookie an untouchable.

The Clippers initially resisted Indiana's insistence on Maggette but relented after a 14-5 start faded into a prolonged slump. L.A. and Golden State emerged as strong Artest contenders with Indiana president Larry Bird preferring to make a trade with one team as opposed to a multi-team deal.

The Warriors can build a trade package around another power forward -- Troy Murphy -- if Diogu remains off limits, but Indiana's luxury-tax concerns and the $51 million over five years left on Murphy's contract make it a questionable fit. Warriors swingmen Mike Dunleavy and Mickael Pietrus have also been mentioned as possibilities.

The Pacers have six weeks left before the Feb. 23 trading deadline to find a deal they like. Artest, who has played in just 23 regular-season games since winning the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2003-04 season, was placed on Indiana's inactive list (with pay) after telling The Indianapolis Star on Dec. 10 that he wants a trade.

After telling the newspaper that he wanted a fresh start away from the restrictions of coach Rick Carlisle's system and the memories of last season's 73-game suspension, Artest later withdrew the trade request. The Pacers, though, have maintained from the start that they would not consider a reconciliation and plan to keep Artest inactive until they can move him.

Asked if Pacers players were open to giving Artest another chance, star center Jermaine O'Neal told ESPN.com earlier this month: "I like Ron as a person. I care about him as a person. I don't think there's any bad feelings between us, but he understands my position. I went to bat for him [last season] just like I'm going to bat for this team now. We took a vote and every player said they prefer to move on. I've got to back the team and that's something I told him. It's not just me. That's a bridge you cannot cross, when you start talking about playing with other players and playing for other teams."

After practice Thursday, when asked about the possibility of acquiring Maggette, O'Neal said: "I really don't want to comment about it. He's hurting and is going to have about six more weeks off. I would prefer to have somebody who could play right away, but I don't run the team. I just play the game and know that [Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh] and those guys will make a decision over what's best for the team.''

I meant the championship not just the playoffs, but I don't think they will make it in either, MAYBE as the 8 seed but thats maybe.

Golden State is overrated. Maybe J Rich will come to LA, and maybe we'll take him if he works on his fg pct.

How is Golden State overrated? They've been in the cellar for more than a decade? They are NOT overrated, people are just optimisitc about them this year with right to be, for the first time in 12 years they MIGHT make the playoffs, they are NOT overrated.

The Heat are overrated, too much talent on a that team, they were a better team last year with both Jones'.

edit: overestimated. :)

The Miami Heat are a distant second to the Pistons and the Pacers' season was ruined by Ron Artest.
