Yup. Now begins the NEXT season thread for 2010-2011..

Will the Lakers be the champs again?

Where is LeBron going to be playing?

Do you know the muffin man?

Any other questions, comments or thoughts for next year's hoop action...bring it on!

Yes.

Right now, I think he'll probably stay in Cleveland, although I wish he'd go somewhere like Knicks and shake the league up.

Do you know the muffin man?

Yes, he is Rajon Rondo. :cwink:

Let's go for Threepeat, Lakers!

I am going to go against the grain and say no, the Lakers will not repeat next year.

As for Lebron? Everyone knows he's going to stay in Cleveland.

I too will be hoping someone mans up and takes em down.

The problem is the team(s) that were the favorites to beat them were upsetted in the playoffs. Denver or Dallas were considered the favorites and it's a shame really that teams with great potential, talent, and driven coaches always seem to experience the same first round exits.

It's time for them to start using the Lakers success as motivation and start matching their swag, their defense, their offense, and their intensity with the same drive.

Lebron coming to the Clippers and you know it!!!

Chicago, New York, or Miami would be better markets for LaBron and the NBA.

If Lebron goes to Chicago. They will bring down the beast!!!:cmad:

On a side note does anyone know how to gut & clean a large doughy creature known as the muffin man. He came by to see me while I was high. & things got ugly.

Jesus! Seriously this team cant go back in the gutter fast enough.

If he were to go to any of those teams he'd be in the same situation there as he is in Cleveland. Hence why I believe they'll actually bring him some help in Cleveland and he'll stay there.

The only problem the cavs have no one appealing to trade for...

Right now, the payroll in Chicago is well under the salary cap. I would argue that they have enough money to get a LeBron James and team him up with a Dwane Wade and Derrick Rose and still have enough money to get other free agents to fill out a really good team. New York is in the same situation. A GM just has to do a little thinking and planning, that's all. Chicago and New York are much bigger markets than Cleveland and the heads of the NBA know that. That is why I belive they would encourage James to go to one of those teams.

The Nets are offering Devin Harris and the 3rd pick for Chris Paul...

You know, I can't fault them. They are proud of their team, and they did play like champions (at least in their eyes). It's only that the Lakers were the better team this time around.

The problems I have with the ad are not only that they proclaim their team as the "World Champions", but they tried to claim a moral victory by stating that Perkins were out with injury, hence the reason why they lost to the Lakers. Well, back in '08 the Lakers didn't have Bynum at all in the Finals, and Ariza was also injured as well. However, Lakers fans didn't use those factors as excuse in an ad back then, because injuries are unavoidable and it's part of the game. Lakers have also lost Finals due to injuries too, but that's the way it is.

Btw, looking at the list of celebrities who chip in, I noticed that none of them are really A-list celebs. And the more famous Boston celebrities like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck stayed out of it too. And did Chiklis really pay to have his wife on the list?

I can understand why you have a problem with that, but they did say "our World Champions" (meaning it only applied to them) and I got that it was not official (of course only the NBA could crown a champion, and even then they would be "NBA Champions" since we have a world championship or basketball coming up). Suffice it to say that they have a right to print whatever they want since they have that from the 1st Amendment. Of course that doesn't mean we have to recognize it as fact.

It's not like they add was taking shots at the Lakers or anything like that. It's basically just a thank you to the team for how well they played during the post season.

i predict that Boozer will be playing in the Eastern Conference in 2011

NBA ALL-STAR KEVIN DURANT NAMED COVER ATHLETE OF EA SPORTS NBA ELITE 11
Jun 22, 2010
Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that Oklahoma City Thunder small forward, Kevin Durant, will be the cover athlete for NBA ELITE 11. A 2010 NBA All-Star, Durant became the youngest player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring this past season, and he helped lead the Thunder to an impressive 50 win season and an NBA Playoffs berth. NBA ELITE 11 is currently in development under the EA SPORTS™ brand by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C. and will be available worldwide this October.

NBA ELITE 11 introduces significant gameplay changes that promise to revolutionize the basketball videogame experience. Hands-On Control is an innovative new control scheme that allows for one-to-one responsiveness of a player’s movement and actions on the court, as opposed to predetermined animations from the past that require users to wait while a scenario played out before making the next move. Hands-On Control is unique to NBA ELITE 11 and it is used to manage everything within a player’s offensive and defensive arsenal, including: dribble moves, dunks, drives to the basket, fadeaways, mid-air adjustments, blocks, steals and more.

“I’ve always been a fan of EA SPORTS,” said Durant. “This has been an exciting year for me and the team, and capping it off with being on the cover of NBA ELITE 11 is cool.”

“Durant is a game changer,” said Jordan Edelstein, VP Marketing, EA SPORTS. “There has never been a player his size with his skill set, and there has never before been a basketball videogame like NBA ELITE. Just like we see Durant as the future of the NBA, NBA ELITE 11 represents the future of basketball videogames by providing a gameplay experience you simply won’t find anywhere else on the market.”

Picked second overall in the 2007 NBA Entry Draft, Durant has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments in his short professional career, including being named the 2008 T-Mobile NBA Rookie of the Year. Additionally, he will be representing the USA in the 2010 FIBA World Championships this summer in Turkey.

Durant is only the third player in EA SPORTS history to be featured both on the pack of an NCAA and an NBA licensed product. Durant was featured on the cover of NCAA March Madness 08.

NBA ELITE 11 will be available for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

I wonder if Hornets will trade Chris Paul.

July 1st is such a huge day.

Excel has ACL reconstructive surgery, LeBron is a free agent....

I wonder how Paul feels about being drug into this whole Lebron FA situation. I personally think it is a little tacky on Lebrons camp part.
