Comics 2010 Year of Spider-Man?

Doc Ock's tentacles probing a baby in some kind of coccoon. I'm going to call it right now: After the events of ASM #600, Ock's cloning himself a new body.

Good observation...i hadn't considered that...

Either that, or Doc Ock has kidnapped the baby in order to transfer his mind into him/her in order to have a new body. And it the baby in question is actually Norman Osborn and Lily Hollister's, then it makes sense for quite a few reasons.

For one thing, we already know that Lily is pregnant, so it would be kind of redundant to introduce ANOTHER baby when one is already lined up to be born. Also, consider that one of the reasons Doc Ock is dying in the first place is because he, despite having super-strong robotic tentacles he can mentally control, is still a normal human being physically. The child of Norman and Lily, on the other hand, would have the Green Goblin formula coursing through his/her veins and thus be physically superior to any normal child--including having super strength and an enhanced regeneration capabilities--when it comes to full maturity; which, if the Stacy twins are anything to go by wouldn't take very long. Also, Doc Ock has done this before. When he was killed by Kaine during the Clone Saga, Carolyn Trainer had previously copied Doc Ock's consciousness which was the "Master Programmer" and then, as part of bringing him back to life, downloaded it into his revitalized body. Doc Ock, with Carolyn Trainer's help yet again, could try and attempt the same thing by downloading his mind into Norman and Lily's kid.

Course, I could always be 100% wrong about this.

After reading this, I remembered this piece of concept art on IGN for Ock's design in #600. It has Carolyn Trainer's name scribbled on it, so maybe plans to include her in a future story are not so far off?

Carolyn was awesome. Bring back her and Stunner, and reunite them with Octavius. He'd really need them now in his current condition.

I noticed it this morning at 5:00 at night, cause I amde it my wallpaper on the computer.

Yeah i really want to know what Juggs is doing there.

Just some quick ideas, Ana has Peters scent or knows who he is right? So could she be targeting his family first... maybe she goes after MJ?

The spiders in the top left, something is hunting the Spiders (i recall?) what if it is a relative of Morlun?

With Ana, I'm thinking that she maybe she's upset. Maybe she blames Spider-Man for Kraven's death, not knowing that he kileld himself, which maybe why she's strangling his costume. Maybe...

Juggernaut is in a story called "Something Can Stop the Juggernaut" starting in March, and the image of Ana holding the costume is an homage/reference to Amazing #293.

Happy new year to all!! The full pic has been posted.

Looks like they were blurring out one thing near the top these past few days. Doc Ock's tentacles and a baby. The same baby Joey Q mentioned a few weeks ago?

This is gonna be a good year. :woot:

Except for Carlie and Peter (Carlie couldn't be any more boring.) kissing I got say I'm up for the rest of what the image says it to come.

bleh it's too obvious. I bet MJ marries someone else just to shut up the MJ/Pete shippers. cos JoeQ is a dick that way

I was really hoping that reilly would play a part in the events that transpire this year. Between his appearence in "return of the hunter", the crucial ending to the clone saga mini, and his sporadic appearences in the relaunch of Web of Spider-Man, it made me believe he plays a pivotial role in all of this.

That whole image is a freakin' c***tease. Using imagery of Peter & MJ in a marriage type scenario as well as a baby shown, clearly trying to reel in fans of old continuity (the marriage, and missing baby May) but I get the cold feeling it's just red herrings. Joe Q's opinions against these elements are too powerful to make anyone believe we'd have any of these past elements return.

I hadn't noticed this until today. For the past months I haven't be reading any comics at all. School and other issues kind of caught up with me. That being said I have all the issues, just haven't read them. It's intimidating looking at a huge stack of issues when your so behind Lol.

Anyway, I won't lie. I got immediately hyped when I saw that image. I've been one of the huge "Peter/MJ" supporters through out my time on this website. That relationship is one of the main reasons why the character of Spider-man has always been so appealing. With that being stripped away, the characters personality being regressed to that of a child and Spider-man no longer possessing that same charm, I lost interest in the comics. So Yes Seeing that imagine got me hyped.... Then I stopped and thought about everything for a second. There is no way that that picture will lead to the return of Peter/MJ or anything positive for fans of "old pre BND" continuity. It's just not going to happen. Like someone else mentioned, Joey Q's thoughts on the matter are too powerful. Nothing is going to sway that. Plus he' a d**k. :yay:

The picture did serve its purpose though. It has me interested to actually sit through all the issues I'm behind and read them to catch up. Damn I stopped posting on this site because of all the Peter/MJ Drama. Lost interest in the comics and now my first post here in some months is about Peter/MJ. Heh Go figure.

I have given up comics and come here to discuss the movies. The problem with JQ as EIC is that all book have to be books that appeal to him. This is why so many books have changed from what they are supposed to be. Peter goes from being a character that has for the first time in a long time advanced and grown and goes back to how he was at age 16. The Avengers go from Earth's Mightiest Heroes to Marvel's Marketing team.

Looks pretty obvious to me that the picture is a teaser for the story that will explain why they didn't get married in this "brand new" world and not a teaser that Marvel all of a sudden decided to go back to the pre-BND continuity

That does sound much more realistic in terms of the possibilities.

Obviously it's natural for me and just about every other Peter/MJ fan to be hopeful for this. However, if there's one thing I've learned about being a fan of Spider-man in recent history...it's that Marvel hates me. :yay:
