That isn't the question. The question is if sending Hardy home with his paycheck would somehow violate his "rights". Clearly not, as that is exactly what they did.

And why bring up Luck? I doubt he is sitting on an arsenal of guns and making at best bad relationship decisions. Then Hardy asked for a bench trial, and then cried about the results. This is Hardy's fault anyway to slice it.

That said, Greg's crazy ass at least deserved to be tried fairly by our legal system and in that aspect it has failed him. Again, he put himself in this situation but his career shouldn't be taking a hit until his peers say "Guilty".

I agree with everything you said but this. I don't feel like his career is taking a hit. He is getting paid, and if he is found not guilty I am sure he will walk back onto the field. If he had taken the jury trial the first time around, this could have already been settled one way or another.

It is typical practice for employees to be sent home with pay when stuff like this happens. The oddity is sports, where the vast majority only cares about is if their team's chances of winning are being hurt. I am not applying this too you here. I am talking about the likes of the Ravens fans walking around in Rice jerseys.

Everybody and their mother thought Jackson came down with the ball; it came out after he was clearly down by contact. Even the commentators thought he was down. It was a 50+ yard play.

I look at things without being biased, but it was a horrible call.

Edit: It would have set them up a few years from the goal line.
