One of those picks wasnt a pick. Thomas had it ripped out of his hands right after he caught the ball. I don't know how you call that an INT on Manning?

Those 4 INT's cost me a fantasy championship. Bastard

I think the Steelers win next week, but hopefully the Bengals can at least stay somewhat in the game this time.

25 unanswered points in the fourth quarter the last time they met. Win or lose, they need some semblance of momentum going into the playoffs. Just compete. That's all I ask.

I hope you're right, bud. And for your sake, I hope the Bengals actually have some success in the postseason this year, though preferably not against the Steelers. Although even if they only win ONE playoff game, you know that means another 20-year contract extension for Marvin Lewis.

I also need San Diego to win next week. If the Ravens manage to sneak into the postseason because the Browns start Connor Shaw/Tyler Thigpen/Thaddeus Lewis/Jeff Tuel/Vinny Testaverde/Jeff George/Andy Dick at quarterback next week, I'm going to be so pissed.

Let me put it this way.

If they're one and done again, Mike Brown has to terminate his contract early (he's signed through 2015) and fire him. You cannot have an 0-6 record in the playoffs over the course of twelve years and keep your job. There's just no way. He's been given plenty of opportunities, some that defy all logic and reason (getting a contract extension after a 4-12 season), and he still hasn't been able to get it done. The organization doesn't owe him a damn thing at this point.

Yeah, I see no reason to keep Lewis around after this season if they can't win a playoff game.

Well Lewis beat Peyton so Bengal logic says that he can do anything now and is GOAT and needs another extenstion!!

I think unless they plan on cleaning house, I don't see the point in doing it now. They should've addressed Lewis a long time ago, now, I think that team is firmly of his making & he has to be the one to maximize whatever potential is left there. I don't see a Gruden/TB situation where someone could just walk in there and make something happen, the team is still flawed personnel-wise...

Marvin Lewis - 12 years
Paul Alexander - 21 years
Jay Hayes - 12 years
Jon Hayes - 12 years
Chip Morton - 12 years
Darrin Simmons - 12 years
Ken Zampese - 12 years
Duke Tobin - 15 years (12 as director)
Bill Tobin - 12 years
Greg Seamon - 12 years
John Cooper - 13 years

The bulk of the Bengals staff has been here over ten years. Paul Alexander, the offensive-line coach, has been with this team since 1993. Mike Brown is loyal to his friends to a fault. Twelve years of middling the road and even the coordinators, position coaches, and assistants have kept their jobs.

When Brown fired Bratkowski following the 2010 season, he did so only because he felt it would appease Carson Palmer. Turns out Palmer wanted Marvin Lewis gone, if anyone. But Brown stuck with Lewis, Palmer retired, and the rest is history.

Fun note: Palmer was a very good player and showed huge promise in his earlier years in Cincinnati. Then he regressed. Now he's in Arizona and prior to the injury was back to playing pretty good football. Looks like Palmer may not have been the problem after all. WHO COULD IT POSSIBLY BE?

I always liked Palmer. I legitimately felt for the guy when he went down this year.

These coaches are complacent.

TWENTY ONE YEARS with one team as a position coach!

I am.

Even Boom will tell you of our running Marvin Lewis contract gag.

What worries me is Brown will extend him after the season (one-and-done in the playoffs or not).

I can already see it.

"Marvin Lewis' contract extended beyond 2015 season."

Wouldn't you guys be worried about progression? I mean, making the play-offs is nice and is the right step in the right direction. But how about moving forward?! Perhaps at least try to get to the AFCC? Or better yet, Super Bowl? I know its never easy in this league, but you can't be stuck on mediocrity forever.

A new head coach and some coordinator changes can make a big difference. And those changes can be fast (a season or two). It happens often. With a GM who knows who to acquire talent, the Bengals can do big things consistently.

But hey, I'm all for Marvin Lewis staying as head coach. Give him an extension until 2025.

You are preaching to the choir, my friend.

Such is the way in Cincinnati.

Well this is all kind of my point. That organization is firmly entrenched with Lewis, his staff, his type of players, his philosophy, the whole nine yards so to speak. So just getting rid of him wouldn't get rid of his culture. It would have to be top to bottom, and most importantly, the players on the field. He already has this team, IMO, maxing out whatever potential was there.

I think it makes a difference when the pieces are already firmly in place, and while they have talent in the backfield and on defense, obviously I'm not sure about Dalton being the answer.

And if that's the case, depending on who you replace him with, the whole offensive system and scheme could change. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think it would be a lot harder to do if you just get rid of Lewis but leave his staff and players, (which basically amounts to his footprint) through virtually every aspect of the organization.

Josh Gordon after returning from suspension got suspended again

Reports are that Harbaurgh is going to take that Michigan job.

I think it's pretty much set in stone that Harbaugh will take the job. Who are some potential HC candidates for the 49ers next season?

As a Rams' fan, I do not care. I'm just glad that Harbaugh is gone (apparently). Why the 49ers are driving him away after that much success is a total mystery to me.
