Penalties have really gotten out of hand, that's for sure.

:funny:

Haters gonna hate.

Not really. I have no reason to hate the Broncos. I have nothing against them as a franchise. I think they are one of the best in NFL history. What I do take issue with is the way that Elway has tried to buy a Super Bowl. It is fun to watch them lose despite that, just as it was fun to watch when the Yankees failed at the height of the Steinbrenner era.

P. Manning is out there playing like a baby back b****.

:o

The Broncos have definitely thrown together a ton of players that look great on paper, but I keep seeing them struggle to win, or they just crumble (like they do against teams like the Seahawks). I'm a lifelong Bronco fan, I lived in Denver during Elway's time, but the new Broncos seems to be missing some secret ingredient.

They weren't last season...until the Super Bowl of course. That was one of the finest offenses ever assembled aside from Clady being out for the season.

If I were a Denver fan, I'd be FURIOUS after that flag got picked up.

Its because unlike baseball, where each position can generally do their own thing and play a solo game (to an extent, obviously there are double plays and what not) and basketball, in which a single player can dominate a game...football is all about timing and chemistry. Just throwing together a team of high priced free agents, with the safest, most conservative coach imaginable will not lead to a Super Bowl win in the NFL. There needs to be some aspect of team building. John Elway's failure as a front office exec is thinking that he can get around that.

That right there is why I love this game.

But I agree. Denver is f***ed when Manning retires.

I agree completely. It bums me out seeing my team seem awesome on paper, but not truly being great. I honestly don't think John Fox is that great a coach either.

How many times are the Broncos receivers gonna mess up their routes?

Come on, buying Peyton Manning, then stacking him with every possible free agent at the expense of a quality draft class and ensuring that their cap collapses as soon as Manning retires...they are Yankee-ing it up.
Except there is a cap in football, so it is nothing like the Yankees.

You got to the Super Bowl last year. What in the world...

I'm kinda pissed that I thought this would be a great game to watch. This bores me. I want to either see P. Manning light it up or get intercepted like hell. I see none of those.

A the end of the day professional sports is a business and there are multiple ways to going and winning championships. Also, like you said, buying a team doesn't equal championships.

Also, the NFL has a hard cap limit so it's not like they could buy more than any other NFL team.

The cap in football isn't a true hard cap like in the NHL. It is one that is easily manipulated through backloaded contracts and other such tactics. It isn't as soft as the NBA's cap but buying a team is definitely possible in the NFL (as the Broncos prove every time they step onto the field).

Manning is getting shut down again. That's good since I'm playing against him in fantasy this week. When he does connect it's been to Sanders a lot which is good since I have him in my flex. Just waiting for Harvin to go off and score me some points though. Great game so far

I'm really starting to like Wilson a lot, even though I'm not a Seahawks fan.

Mortgaging your future too win a championship now is part of the cap. Did you complain about the Niners, Cowboys, Bills and Broncos in the 90s as well?

Peyton isn't being shutdown. He has actually been on point today so far. His receivers on the other hand have lost their way completely. Also the line has been horrible on runs.

That's what I'm saying. Every single team either was or should have been envious of that Denver offense last season.
Yeah, complaining about having this Broncos team is ridiculous.

Cap maneuvering is a part of the business side of sports, and every team can do so. It's not like the Broncos had any kind of financial advantage.

Broncocs fan whining about their ability to win??? Ummmm....if the Browns were as good as the Broncos, I'd be the happiest fan ever. Just saying.

Exactly, which is why I don't understand the argument. Especially considering you can see the holes in the team. Not like they got a blue chipper at every position. There is a reason the Chiefs drove the entire third quarter last weekend.
