Well, I guess KISS will not be performing at all at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction because of the continuing differences and feuding between the original members.

You know, you'd think by now some of the founding members could put their egos aside and keep them in check, but yeesh, this war of varying life philosophies has been going on since the 70's. And you know who suffers the most are the fans because some are not willing to lighten up and budge an ego subtracted minute for all the original members to celebrate this monumental ceremony without all the vitriol between them getting in the way. *sigh* I think if things get worse NATO will have to be called in.

P.S. It was a cute nostalgic throwback in the mid 90's but isn't it time to ditch the clown costumes and focus on the musicians? I mean I feel bad for Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer having to be haunted by the comparisons some fans have unfairly latched to them because they had the misfortune of inheriting Ace's and Peter's gimmicks. Devoid of said gimmicks the fans can focus on their musicianship, not that they aren't Ace or Peter. But that's just my opinion.

At this point, I just want to see KISS inducted and be over with it, so I can stop hearing Gene gripe about not being in the HOF repeatedly. I enjoy KISS, but when I hear them complain and trash other HOF inductees makes me like them a little less each time.

What's funny and odd is all the complaining and now that they are inducted they won't be performing at all with any lineup. The fans really would like to see Gene and Paul, for one night at least, set aside their differences and play with Ace and Peter. But I guess egos are too big to get along for just a few hours. Oh well...I guess it is like you said, now Gene can shut up about not being in the HOF. Maybe they are afraid of the fact that given their animosity towards one another all eyes will be on them waiting for something "interesting" to happen?

"To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter's recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans. Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of Kiss and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's point of view.
Although Kiss has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning. It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building Kiss without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day. Kiss has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started Kiss. That is why we continue Kiss. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone. To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the Kiss 40th Anniversary worldwide tour."

To me it doesn't sound this has anything to do with any feud between the members. Kiss just wanted that everyone that has played in the band should get a credit while Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame wanted only the four original members.

If you ask me it's just them being diplomatic and omitting things. It's funny, You have the Gene/Paul camp saying one thing and the Ace/Peter camp saying another, mostly the idea of them performing with them was nixed from the start. Who do you really believe? I personally would rather take the neutral opinion here and just speculate as an outsider what the truth is. What it comes down to is that the PR spin on this whole thing is just mindless entertainment for we 99%ers.

The real problem here is that the rock and roll hall of fame is in cleveland ohio....as if cleveland knows anything about rock and roll....except for the Dead Boys, who i assume are not inducted.

Well, since the face painted divas can't bother to set their egos aside for a few hours they'll have to do something as far as stage performances go to salvage what little musical entertainment they can for the ceremony. Maybe they can have Kurt Cobain be a hologram?

ha ha, to be honest....Kiss are fine...i get why people like them and they have some decent songs, but i just never really got that into them. but their existence doesn't bother me either. Their induction into the RnR Hall of Fame is definitely warranted.

...I lose all respect and develop quite a loathing for the band. It's like he and Gene are trying to be irrationally mean, vindictive and full of themselves or something. People with egos really make me go hyper radioactive and angry, even if it's pretend egomania because I find it to be unbearably obnoxious when people act like they're better than everyone else instead of being nice and humble. If Gene or Paul were normal people and they were to act like this around me I'd get rather violent and slam the door in their faces. On the flip side Ace and Peter would drive me nuts as well because they're the polar opposite side of the coin that Gene and Paul are on. It would be better just to be neutral and stay away from all of them in general. Nasty words have been exchanged by both sides and sorting it out is not my problem.

That said I think they're all acting like children in that they all have quite an issue with humbling themselves and forgiving one another for all the crap they've subjected one another to over the decades. They're all self absorbed drama queens to the max.

*I wish Paul and Gene would stop complaining about this. The fact of the matter is that the original lineup is what the fans remember the most. Seriously, they can't alter popular fan opinion as easily as they can alter the lineup to fit their needs. I'd be more upset that Eric Carr wasn't included in the induction. If any post original lineup member deserves to be there it's the late-Eric Carr.*
